Wu Zuoren Art Museum
Wu Zuoren art museum is located on the west side of the double tower garden of Luohan courtyard in Suzhou, covering an area of about 1430 square meters.
Mr. Wu Zuoren is a native of Anhui Province. His father settled in Suzhou in the late Qing Dynasty. He was born and lived in Suzhou for more than 20 years. He has deep feelings for Suzhou. In 1989, he expressed his willingness to donate his works of art to Suzhou for long-term exhibition. In order to praise Mr. Wu Zuoren's contribution to the cause of Chinese art and thank him for his love for Suzhou, the Suzhou municipal Party committee and government decided to build the Wu Zuoren Art Museum. The museum was completed at the end of 1993. There are 90 works donated by Mr. Wu Zuoren to his hometown Suzhou, 10 works donated by Mrs. Xiao Shufang, and 10 works donated by his grandfather and elder sister in the museum, totaling 110. Among them, there are 18 oil paintings, 17 Chinese paintings, 15 calligraphies and 40 sketchy watercolors, reflecting the style of Wu family.
