Kuimen Bridge
Kuimen bridge, located on the Yangtze River waterway, is a river crossing channel connecting the South and north sides of Fengjie County in Chongqing, China. It is an important external channel of Fengjie County.
The construction of Kuimen bridge started on December 4, 2001;
The main construction of the bridge was completed on March 16, 2005;
It was put into operation on July 1, 2006.
The total length of Kuimen bridge is 930.25 meters, and the main bridge is 893 meters long. The line starts from Shicheng road in the north, crosses the Yangtze River Waterway in the north, and ends at Wuen road in the south. The bridge deck is a two-way four lane urban trunk road with a design speed of 40 km / h.
Construction process
In 1995, the people's Government of Fengjie County set up a project for the construction of Kuimen bridge.
In June 2000, the geological survey of Kuimen bridge was completed.
On December 4, 2001, the construction of Kuimen bridge started and the commencement ceremony was held.
On March 16, 2005, the main construction of Kuimen bridge was completed, and the bridge project was completed.
On May 26, 2006, Kuimen bridge passed the load test;
On July 1, Kuimen bridge was put into operation.
On August 22, 2011, Kuimen bridge carried out safety physical examination.
On October 15, 2013, Kuimen bridge carried out regular inspection and high temperature monitoring.
On September 21, 2015, the closure inspection of Kuimen bridge was carried out; on September 23, 2015, the closure inspection of Kuimen bridge was completed.
On December 6, 2018, the development and Reform Commission of Fengjie county approved the implementation plan for the lighting project of Kuimen Yangtze River Bridge, and made an official reply.
On May 15, 2019, the bridge deck pavement and ancillary facilities of Kuimen bridge will be overhauled; on June 2, the lighting test of Kuimen bridge will be carried out;
On June 20, the bridge deck pavement and ancillary facilities of Kuimen bridge were overhauled.
Bridge location
Kuimen bridge is located in Fengjie County, Chongqing City, China, connecting the South and north sides of the county. The bridge starts from Shicheng road in the north, crosses the Yangtze River Waterway in the north and ends at Wuen road in the south. The bridge is 160km away from the downstream Three Gorges Project in the West and 10km away from the upstream Qutang gorge in the East.

Kuimen bridge is composed of main bridge, two pylons, stay cables and approach bridge, and the main bridge route is arranged from northwest to Southeast.
Design features
Kuimen bridge is a prestressed cable-stayed bridge with concrete side main girder, double pylons and double cable planes. The longitudinal elastic semi floating system is used between the tower and girder at the main tower, the box girder is used for the side span of the main girder due to the heavy pressure, and the rectangular side girder is used for the rest; the concrete strength of the main girder is grade C60 except for the mid span section, and the rest is grade C50. The main tower is A-shaped, using C50 concrete, which is divided into five parts: upper tower column, cross beam, middle tower column, cover plate and lower tower column; the upper, middle tower column and cross beam are single box and single chamber sections. The lower pylon is a single box three compartment section. A diaphragm is set at the change of the longitudinal bridge width of the pylon, and the cover plate is a solid plate, which is located at the junction of the middle and lower pylon. The stay cable adopts space double cable plane, galvanized parallel steel wire, extruded double PE, black inner layer and sky blue outer layer; the anchor of stay cable adopts cold cast pier head anchor, and the anchor of beam end and tower end adopts tension end anchor. The main tower pier adopts group pile foundation, and the pile foundation is designed as friction pile. Movable basin type rubber bearings are set at the vertical and side piers and auxiliary piers between towers and beams. Wind resistant and shockproof rubber bearings are set at the horizontal main tower piers, and horizontal blocks are set at the side piers and auxiliary piers.
Design parameters
The total length of Kuimen bridge is 930.25m, the main bridge is 893m long, and the span arrangement is (30.4 + 202.6 + 460 + 174.7 + 25.3m), the main span is 460m and the width is 20.5M. The height of the beam at the bridge axis is 2.5m, the width of the main beam at the rectangular side is 1.7m, the thickness of the top plate is 0.32m, and the thickness of the cross beam is 0.4m. The width of the side girder at the tower root is increased to 3.5m, and the width of the box girder at both sides near the tower root is increased to 2.2m. The thickness of the bottom plate of the side span box girder on the north bank is 0.35m, and that on the south bank is 0.45M. The height of the South and north main towers above the bearing platform are 206 meters and 211.606 meters respectively. The longitudinal bridge width of the main tower is 7 meters except that the lower end of the lower tower column changes from 7 meters to 10 meters. The thickness of the diaphragm of the lower tower column is 0.6 meters, the transverse width of the upper and middle tower columns is 4.2 meters, the transverse width of the lower tower column is 23 meters, and the cable distance on the tower is 1.7 meters. There are 28 pairs of stay cables in each tower and each cable plane, and 224 stay cables in the whole bridge. The diameter of steel wire is 7mm, and the standard strength is 1670mpa. There are six piers in the substructure. The pile length of the North Main Pier is 58m, and that of the South Main Pier is 76m.

As of June 2019, Kuimen bridge is equipped with more than 60000 LED point light sources, more than 1800 meters of wall washing lamps, more than 200 water pattern lamps and more than 320 projection lamps; the beam range of lighting covers a radius of 15 kilometers, with more than 20 sets of performance modes built in, receiving wireless control signals in real time.

Technical problems
The technical innovation of Kuimen bridge is as follows:
1. The main span of the bridge adopts structural measures such as longitudinal elastic restraint system, A-shaped main tower, cable plane of spatial fan-shaped cable-stayed bridge, pile foundation of large-diameter drilling library hole, and new construction technologies such as hanging basket pouring No. 0 and No. 1 blocks and internal climbing frame construction of high tower with no rigid skeleton.
2. The main pier can meet the structural strength, stiffness and stability when the ship collides by adopting single box and multi chamber section, strengthening the reinforcement around the water level and other measures. At the same time, the reasonable navigation aids can guide the ship to pass safely and smoothly.
3. The height of the main tower above the bearing platform of the bridge is 206 m and 211.60 m respectively. A-shaped tower, internal climbing frame construction tower without rigid framework, setting circumferential prestressed finish rolled coarse rebar in the cable anchor area and other technologies are adopted to ensure the safety performance of the cable tower.
4. In terms of wind resistance stability, the bridge adopts spatial double cable plane and A-shaped tower, increases the torsional stiffness of the bridge through stay cables to improve the wind resistance stability, and adopts longitudinal semi floating system considering wind resistance, earthquake resistance and internal force distribution under static load.
5. In the construction process of the bridge, the cable force, alignment and structural stress have been well controlled. The closure accuracy of side span closure and middle span closure has reached millimeter level. The errors of finished bridge line and cable force are controlled within the target range. The maximum errors of girder alignment and cable force of the whole bridge are plus or minus 3cm and plus or minus 5%, respectively. The control results have reached the pre-determined standard The target precision of "double control" is determined.
Cultural characteristics
White God City
In July 2017, Kuimen bridge installed "Baidi City, a famous historical city in China" on the side of the bridge tower to publicize Baidi city in Fengjie County.
Light show
In June 2019, Kuimen bridge echoes with the large-scale live performance project of "returning to the Three Gorges", reserving scene modules for future urban landscape lighting nodes and buildings to form an overall performance.
Value significance
The completion of Kuimen bridge will make Fengjie become the transportation hub and material distribution center of Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing and Shaanxi, connecting Xi'an, Three Gorges, Zhangjiajie, Wushan, Wuxi and Fengjie "Golden Triangle" tourism links, creating conditions for Fengjie to build a national Three Gorges tourism resort. < I (China Communications daily) < / I
