Introduction to Yinghui Hall
The exact location of the early palace gate of Qichun garden is unknown. The palace gate was added in 1809, which is commonly known as the new palace gate. There are two rolling sheds inside and outside the Xieshan dingmen hall, which are called the grand palace gate and the second palace gate. They are dedicated to the emperor and Empress Dowager. There are left and right gates in the East and west of the grand palace gate. There are also corner gates on both sides of the second palace gate.
Yinghui hall is located in the gate of the second palace, which is the main hall of the garden. It is the hall where the Empress Dowager receives the official greetings on the Wanshou Festival. Empress Dowager Xiaohe died in the Palace Museum in the 29th year of Daoguang (1849) and Empress Dowager kangci died in the fifth year of Xianfeng (1855). Later, they all moved the Zitong palace to Yinghui hall for a temporary Memorial, and then went to the mausoleum.

historical background
In 1860, when the three Yuanming gardens were destroyed by the fire of the British and French allied forces, a small number of buildings survived in Yichun garden. When Tongzhi tried to rebuild Yuanmingyuan, the garden was renamed wanchunyuan. In 1900, the Allied forces of the eight powers invaded Beijing, and all the remaining buildings in the garden were destroyed in the war. Only the palace gate, the court house and the Zhengjue temple on the west side of the garden were left. In 1927, Xiangshan children's College planned to build Xiangshan middle school in the east of Chengfu, and bought the new palace gate at a low price. Later, the middle school was not built, but the palace gate was razed to the ground. In 1986, the mountain shaped water system of qichunyuan was renovated, and the grand palace gate, second palace gate, palace wall and Corner Gate of the garden were restored at the original site. The newly-built gate is now the gate of Yuanmingyuan Ruins Park. The shadow wall in front of the gate is located in the north of Qinghua West Road. Yinghui hall and other ruins of the building platform is still in today's small garden.
