Historical evolution
Xiapu is located at the mouth of Quanzhou Bay. The situation is natural. The harbor is deep and the wind is calm. Ships are berthed here. It is an important part of overseas transportation. In the Ming Dynasty, the Japanese pirates were rampant along the coast, and the place was not peaceful, so the partridge inspection department was set up here, and the gun platform (common "gun city") was built to resist the Japanese invaders from the sea. At the same time, the checkpoints were set up to check the passing merchant ships, so as to ensure the local security. Xiapu villagers lived by the sea and lived by the sea. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620), a small palace was built to worship Mazu. After several expansions, in 1661, Liu Zhisheng, the commander of the Navy Department of quanjun County, was stationed in the village and offered land to rebuild the Shunji palace, making it more and more perfect. It was rebuilt in 1931 and in recent years.
building structure
The hall is five rooms wide and four rooms deep. It is mainly dedicated to Mazu, the sea god (including aunt, second mother and third mother). It is also dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, Baosheng emperor, marshal Tiandu, Lord Kang, Madame (aunt), Qianliyan, shunfenger, etc.
Cultural Relic
It is said that Shi Lang visited the palace to sign Lingying on the platform, and a wooden plaque named "Jinghai Qingguang" was worshipped after the platform. The original plaque was destroyed during the "Cultural Revolution". The plaque of "Jinghai Qingguang" hanging in the main hall is imitated when it was rebuilt in 1990. The first paragraph reads: "the 24th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1685)", and the second paragraph reads "general Jinghai and Marquis Shi Langli of Jinghai".
There are two granite steles embedded in the east wall of the mountain gate, one is the monument of Liu Gong's merit and virtue in the 18th year of Shunzhi (1661) of Qing Dynasty, and the other is the stele of Gong ban in the first year of the Republic of China (1912). On the wall of Shicheng, there are two stone tablets of "meiyunpuyin" written by Huang Yiguo. One side of the inner wall is still in good condition, and the other side of the outer wall is broken.
