Tang Xianzu Memorial
Tang Xianzu memorial hall is a celebrity Memorial Hall established in memory of Tang Xianzu, a great dramatist and writer in Ming Dynasty. The museum was built in October 1995 and opened to the outside world. It is a cultural institution based on Tang Xianzu's exhibition room in Fuzhou City, located in quejiashan, southern suburb of Fuzhou City. The museum has group work department, garden department, business department, office, etc. In 2001, the museum was awarded as the patriotic education base of Jiangxi Province.
Reasons for construction
Tang Xianzu (1550-1616) was born in Linchuan, Jiangxi Province. Tang Xianzu was a young man with a strong reputation. He won the provincial examination in the fourth year of Longqing (1570). He went to Beijing for the examination in the fifth year of Wanli (1577). He failed in the examination because he was not attached to power and disobeyed Zhang Juzheng. He was a Jinshi in the eleventh year of Wanli (1583). He served as doctor of Taichang temple, director of zhanshifu and director of rites department. In the 19th year of Wanli (1591), in order to expose the current malpractice, he was demoted in the treatise on auxiliary minister and Ke Chen Shu. In the second year, he served as the county magistrate of Suichang, Zhejiang Province for five years, and his political voice spread far and wide. However, due to the corruption of the government, he abandoned his official post and returned to his hometown in 1598. After resigning from office, Tang Xianzu changed his mind and wrote Peony Pavilion, Nanke story and Handan story. These three plays and zichai story completed by Nanjing Ren Shang are collectively known as "four dreams of Linchuan". The "Four Dreams" attacked the feudal ethics and deeply exposed the political malpractices of Ming Dynasty. The plot was tortuous and the characters were vivid. For 400 years, it has been flourishing and famous overseas.
In memory of this great dramatist and writer, Tang Xianzu memorial hall was built in 1992 and opened to the public in 1995. The hall covers an area of 180 Mu and consists of Simeng village, entertainment village and holiday village. There are more than 20 scenic spots in Simeng village, such as Qingyuan building, Sansheng bridge, Simeng square, Yaotai, bizhao, Banting, Yuai pool, broken cocoon mountain house, Mao Zedong's hand tablet, Huangliang Hotel, etc
The scenes in "Peony Pavilion", "Purple hairpin", "Nanke" and "Handan" are artistically displayed in combination with the characteristics of gardens. At the same time, the influence of Tang Xianzu's life, "four dreams of Linchuan" on later generations and Tang Xianzu's position in the world drama and the history of Chinese literature are also displayed to the world. Among them, Tang Weng's noble personality, fair and upright official quality and brilliant artistic achievements leave a deep impression on people. The cultural connotation of the whole memorial hall is very deep, and it is an excellent teaching material to carry out patriotism education.

Tang Xianzu memorial hall is not only a place with profound cultural heritage, but also an extremely beautiful environment. The museum not only retains a kind of original forest state, but also plants many economic trees suitable for viewing. In the museum, there are birds in spring, trees in summer, fish in autumn and cedar in winter. The forest resources of Fuzhou are also displayed in the museum. There are magnolia garden, camellia garden, pine and cypress garden, osmanthus garden and peach blossom island. Torreya grandis, Ginkgo biloba, jinqiansong, red maple and other national rare plants are introduced. In another sense, it has become the "city Expo Garden" of Fuzhou forestry.
Qingyuan building, the main exhibition hall of Tang Xianzu memorial hall, is a two-story Pavilion imitating Ming architecture. The first floor is the exhibition hall, which shows Tang Xianzu's honest life and his eternal "four dreams of Linchuan" in the form of paintings and photos. The second floor is the drama stage - four dreams stage. Tang Xianzu, a famous dramatist and litterateur in Ming Dynasty, is an outstanding figure bred by the bright "Linchuan culture", an outstanding representative of the "hometown of gifted scholars", a world-renowned cultural celebrity, known as "Shakespeare of the East". In order to commemorate this great dramatist, carry forward "Linchuan culture" and revitalize Fuzhou's economy, Fuzhou municipal Party committee and administrative office decided to set up a 180 mu land for the construction of Tang Xianzu culture and Art Center and Tang Xianzu Memorial Hall in Linchuan City, Jiangxi Province, the hometown of Tang Xianzu, and formally laid the foundation in December 1992. The center (Museum) is located in quejiashan, two kilometers away from the city center in the southeast of Linchuan city. It is mainly composed of "Simeng village", "Yingbin village" and "entertainment village".
"Si Meng Village" is a scenic spot with memorial facilities, covering an area of 80 mu. In the village, the comprehensive exhibition hall, Peony Pavilion, Mao Zedong's handwritten stele, plum blossom nunnery, Li Niang tomb, Huangliang Hotel, Qianlang, Shengye square, Yaotai, Zhaobi, Mengquan, Tingquan tea house, exhibition hall and other scenic spots are equipped with mural sculptures, poetry and couplets to reproduce the emotional mood of Tang Weng's masterpiece four dreams in Linchuan. Walk, as in a dream. Elegant art and noble sentiment give people the enjoyment of beauty and the sublimation of personality.
Yingbin village is a leisure area, covering an area of 20 mu. In the village, the thatched cottage is hidden between the beautiful bamboo trees. It is warm in winter and cool in summer. It is like spring all the year round. Beside the village, the lake is rippling, the willows are shady, the mountains and rocks are quiet, and the grass is green. Besides, the farmhouse outside the village is just like the traffic. The beautiful farmland, the beautiful pool, and the mulberry and bamboo are the setting off of the quiet pastoral scenery. In fact, it is a tourist resort and a wonderful place for the wedding honeymoon.
"Entertainment village" is an entertainment business district, covering an area of 80 mu. In the village, there are cinemas, playhouses, children's paradise, entertainment and juggling, and trade shops. The Tang clan genealogy of Wenchang was revised in 1868 (the seventh year of Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty). It is a movable type edition with seven volumes of thread binding. The spectrum is 37.2 cm long, 22.4 cm wide and 32.7 cm high. The whole genealogy is put together in an exquisite genealogy box with "Tang clan genealogy of Wenchang" engraved on the front of the box.
