Nanchang County Museum

Nanchang County Museum is located in the landmark "Nanchang County Cultural Center" building in the core area of Liantang Town. The building is a circular fan-shaped modern building. The museum is located in the west of the building, with a construction area of 3120 square meters and an exhibition area of 2300 square meters.

Development history

Nanchang County Museum was established in 1984 as a comprehensive museum under Nanchang County Bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism, press and publication. In 2009, it was approved by Jiangxi Provincial Department of culture to add the signboard of Hongzhou kiln celadon Museum. In 2013, it was listed as a national third-class Museum.

Basic Display

On January 24, 2009, Nanchang County Museum officially opened to the public free of charge. There are "Hongzhou kiln celadon Exhibition" and "historical and cultural picture exhibition of Nanchang county".

The basic Exhibition "Hongzhou kiln celadon Exhibition" is located on the second floor of Nanchang County Museum. It was upgraded in May 2012 and officially opened in September of the same year. "Hongzhou kiln celadon Exhibition" is a special exhibition of Hongzhou kiln celadon independently held by Nanchang County Museum by using its cultural relics. The exhibition covers an area of 880 square meters and has a line length of 235 meters. 259 pieces (sets) of celadon cultural relics are displayed, including 166 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics. The whole exhibition, supplemented by means of landscape restoration, video broadcasting and voice explanation, represents the historical features of Hongzhou kiln, one of the six famous kilns in the Tang Dynasty, and its historical position in the history of Chinese ceramics. "Hongzhou kiln celadon Exhibition" won the "10th (2011-2112) National Museum top ten exhibition quality award".

The exhibition hall covers an area of 1470 square meters. The exhibition comprehensively introduces the history and culture of Nanchang County in the form of pictures and words.

Temporary Exhibition

Nanchang County Museum also launched temporary exhibitions such as "the third national cultural relics survey results Exhibition", "Rao Xiaolin painting and calligraphy exhibition", "cultural relics protection law publicity photo exhibition", "beautiful south Nanchang Nanchang County Photography Exhibition".

Collection

As of May 2014, Nanchang County Museum has 7619 cultural relics, including 79 first-class cultural relics, 226 second-class cultural relics and 842 third-class cultural relics.

The collection of Nanchang County Museum includes stone, pottery, porcelain, iron, bronze, jade, wood carving, gold and silver, calligraphy and painting, etc. Hongzhou kiln celadon is the most characteristic collection, with 1426 pieces (sets), 629 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics and a long history.

Get honor

On December 18, 2018, it was awarded the title of "the 17th civilized unit of Nanchang City" by Nanchang municipal Party committee and Nanchang Municipal People's government.
