Xiaohu bridge is connected with the outside of the island, Huangge Town in the West and Shazi island in the East. Most of the industrial parks in the island are strictly managed and inconvenient to visit. Xiaohushan is located in the southeast corner of the island, which can be used for outing.

Xiaohu chemical, Xiaohu shrimp Xiaohu Island, Southeast of Huangge Town, Nansha, is one of the five inhabited islands in Guangzhou. It is famous for its early aquaculture and industrial park. Due to the connection of the bridge and the entry of industry, Xiaohu island has been deeply integrated with Huangge Town on the West Bank, becoming a part of an industrial city.

What is little known is that there are also traces of ancient human activities and "carving" of the island by natural forces hidden between the large areas of parks and fish ponds, all of which witness the vicissitudes of the island's history.

Sea erosion remains not on the seashore

Before landing on the island, the sea erosion landform of Xiaohu island was talked about by the marine management personnel. Due to the long-term erosion of sea waves, different rock texture and topography on the coastline will form various shapes.

Some of the sea erosion landforms on Xiaohu island are "pits" of different sizes on the rock walls, some are caves several meters deep, and others are like wearing "belts" on the rocks, and "pulling" out a groove facing inward, which is called sea erosion platform.

Along the mountain between Dawan and Kengzi in Xiaohu village, there are countless sea erosion caves. At the western end of xiaohushan, the sea erosion caves are relatively small, while the southwest rock is the most part of the sea erosion caves in Huangge Town.

The Eroded Landform of Xiao Hu island is part of the Huang Ge marine erosion landform and is also one of the "cream". The sea erosion landform of Huangge Town is northwest southeast, almost in the same straight line, from Liugang to Dahu mountain in the Pearl River Estuary. Among them, xiaohushan, Dahushan and wuzhoushan are the most prominent.

In the view of scholars, the scientific research value of these sea erosion landforms is very precious, which hides various secrets: the formation of crust in Huangge and the Pearl River Delta, the advance and retreat of ancient coastline, the changes of ancient bays in the Pearl River Estuary, the changes of ancient sea level and climate, and the accumulation of plains.

Many of these sea eroded landforms are no longer on the seashore. In ancient times, beaches have become roads, villages, and farmland. Some of them are enclosed in industrial areas with access checks, which are rarely seen by outsiders. A sea cave close to the highway, the good ones were put on various statues and plaques.

It is undeniable that they are "the historical witness of the transformation of many natural villages in Huangge from the sea to the mulberry fields", wrote Nansha Wenshi.

Before the Qin Dynasty, human beings had been active on the island

If it is said that these sea erosion relics far away from the coast are "carved" by time and human resources, and the role of human beings can no longer be estimated, then some stone tools from thousands of years ago show the hazy figure of human activities in Xiaohu island in the pre Qin period - although the history of writing in Nansha began in the Southern Song Dynasty.

More than 30 years ago, when the brick workers were digging sand, they found a piece of stone and a remnant stone spear on the beach of Yuwei mountain in the north of the island. More than 10 years ago, archaeologists collected a long strip of stone in the litchi forest at the foot of Dawan mountain.

Stone is the main production tool in Neolithic age and bronze age. It is a kind of grinding stone tools, rectangular, single-sided blade, some stone top "section" (that is, grinding a piece), called "section stone". The wood handle can be used for cutting and digging. All these show that as early as the pre Qin period, human beings were engaged in production activities on the island. Therefore, in order to calculate the "documented" history of communication with human beings, Xiaohu island is undoubtedly the oldest of the islands in Guangzhou.

"Luxury houses" in the period of the Republic of China

There are two well preserved buildings at No. 4 and No. 6, Lane 1, Zhoutou street, Xiaohu West Road. They were first built in the Republic of China. Cultural relic experts believe that they can be called "local luxury houses".

This is a Lingnan courtyard building in the period of the Republic of China, covering an area of nearly 1300 square meters. The building is two stories high, with green brick wall, granite stone foot, and brick concrete structure combining Chinese and western.

The second floor of the building is paved with terraced tile floor, with a balcony on the front. Ceramic downpipe is set outside. In the west of the East Building, there is a semi-circular stairwell with spiral staircase. The window of the stairwell is made of stained glass.

The "mansion" was built by the local brothers surnamed Li. They were the landlords and also the subordinates of Li Longji, the "local emperor" of Panyu at that time. In recent years, the house has been identified as an important historical site and representative building in Xiaohu island.

Aquaculture replaced by industrial zone

From the historical traces, in the words of villagers, "more than half of Xiaohu island is surrounded". Most of the island has become an industrial park, and the dark red xiaohushan, a landmark in the southeast of the island, is surrounded by roads and parks.

On the island, more than 4000 local residents and migrant workers live here. Xian Shuyou, an Islander, said that the main production of more than 2000 mu of breeding sites is no longer shrimp. In the sixties and seventies of the last century, the island, which is just at the junction of salty and fresh water, was rich in seafood such as shrimp, "you can go to any stream, you can catch it in the mud.".

From the "sketch map of Xiaohu biological fine chemical industry planning", three roads and bridges on the island connect the East and the west, the embankments along the coast surround the flat edge of the island, and the trunk roads divide the island into neat blocks. The whole layout seems to be the same as the city. In the past decade, there have been more and more enterprises entering. According to the plan, Xiaohu island will become a pure industrial island in the future. The once popular aquaculture industry is gradually giving way to the planned industrial park.

Large scale industrialization brings not only wealth and urbanization, but also the "smell of chemical industry" in the air and the "great migration of the whole village" from time to time.
