Biography of Wei Huilin
The ancestor Wei Huilin, whose name is Aiyun, was born in xiabanjiang of the three capitals. He was born on February 12 of the lunar calendar in the 1898 year of Daoguang (A.D. 1838), and died in 1908. On October 12 of the lunar calendar, he was 70 years old. He was buried in the bamboo forest slope at the head of xiabanjiang village.
Huilin was an open-minded and upright man. He studied hard. He practiced martial arts since he was a child and studied strategy. At the age of 19, he was the general manager of Sandu regiment. In the reign of Daoguang, the Qing government was corrupt and bandits were rampant in Liuzhou. In 1855, Liuzhou city was occupied by Li Wenmao. The imperial court was shocked. Lao Chongguang, governor of Guangxi, summoned Zaixin from Badu village, Sandu township. Wei Dang served as an aide under Li Zaixin. Later, he appointed Wei Zaixin as the general regiment of Liuzhou government, who was responsible for supervising stubborn suppression of Fu and governing Ma Ping (Liuzhou), a guest of Liucheng, and the military affairs of Luorong, Rongxian, Luocheng and Xiangzhou in Huaiyuan (Yizhou), Duke Huilin resolutely resigned from the post of commander-in-chief of Sandu regiment and went to Wei Zaixin's regiment office as a pioneer officer. He followed Zaixin to fight north and South and suppressed bandits nearly 100 times.
In 1857, the Guangxi governor Lao Chongguang ordered Wei Zaixin and Wei Huilin to lead troops to attack Longcheng (Liuzhou) and recover Longcheng. At that time, they were fighting bandits in Huaiyuan (Yishan). After receiving the order, they immediately led more than 1000 troops to rush back from Huaiyuan through Luodong, Luoxi, Pingnan and Tubo to the outskirts of Liuzhou. With the cooperation of friendly troops Under the cover of the night, he crossed the Liujiang River to seize the favorable terrain and forcibly attacked the Dongmen tower, which led to the collapse of Li's troops and destroyed the "Jingwang mansion" that Li Wenmao painstakingly built. This was the famous "Longcheng campaign" in Xianfeng years.
In the subsequent battles against bandits, he was brave and good at fighting, and he took the lead everywhere. His soldiers were well disciplined and did not violate the interests of the masses. Under the leadership and command of Wei Zaixin, he successively suppressed the bandits Wei Sicheng, Liang Fuying, Lai Jiege, and so on. Later, when the bandits heard of his name, they were all down and down, and the masses praised him as a "tiger general". His uncle, Wei Hongbao, also worked as a regiment trainer in his department. He was very brave in the battle. Once, he died in the battle at the junction of Pingnan and Tubo in Yishan.
Wei Huilin was appointed as the commander of Liuzhou general tuanfu Fort because of his accumulated military achievements, and he was granted Wupin Lanling to assist Wei Zaixin in taking charge of the affairs of the general tuanfu. Later, he went with Wei Zaixin to Xincheng Babao to pacify the people with the right to use it. He also organized the masses to open up fields and develop production, which won the support of the masses. Guangzu used to be a powerful general. Although he was in a high position, he was honest and upright. He never bought a house or an acre of land in his life.
He said, "I used to fight bandits in Pingnan and Tubo. I often drink horses and rest in fululing in the morning. The villagers in Beilan and other villages are very warm to me. They often lead and feed horses for me. I am very grateful. After a hundred years, please send my spirit to fululing to continue to care for my people."
Wei Huilin, a famous general in the army, made great contributions to the suppression of the insurgency and the peace of the people. After his death, his descendants and the people around him bravely donated money. In the last year of Guangxu (1909), according to his last words, he built a temple at the head of Beilan village in dulebao. It was originally called "Fu Temple" because it was located at the foot of Fulu mountain Homophonic, known as "Fulu Temple", still in use today. After the completion of the temple, the villagers of Sili went to worship one after another, which was very lively. The main hall of the temple has three rooms, one on one side of the side hall, five single rooms in the front hall, corridor rooms in the two sides, walls, barren slopes and grasslands around, and temple fair day. For the masses to grab fireworks, opera, folk song singing venues, the total area of about six acres. The main hall is a couplet written by Wei jiaoru, general manager of the Sandu Regiment (Wei is from shangtan village of Sandu). The first couplet is: "Fu Da Xi, Kang Ning, beg for his son, ask for his grandson, Ying Xianfang, and famous personages forever." the second couplet is: "Fu Gao Guang, to the male and to the female muen believers, I wish you three more." it is scheduled to be the temple fair day on February 12 of the family calendar every year (which is the birthday of the Duke). On that day, the flow of people is as blazing and lively as ever.
After the reform and opening up, in order to remember the famous general and honest official of Qing Dynasty, and to establish a harmonious social environment, his descendants and the surrounding villagers have asked to repair their temples, pay back their original historical features, let the later generations pay homage to the sacrifice, and stimulate people's patriotic and patriotic enthusiasm.
