Donghai County Museum

Donghai County Museum is a local comprehensive museum, which mainly displays Paleolithic and Neolithic artifacts unearthed from daxianzhuang Paleolithic site in shanzuokou Township, Donghai County, as well as various cultural relics from Shang and Zhou dynasties, Qin and Han Dynasties, Tang and Song Dynasties to Qing Dynasty.

Donghai County Museum was established in 1987 with the approval of Donghai County People's government. It works together with Donghai County Library. It has two brands and one team. In 2006, it worked independently with the library. The office space was borrowed from the fifth floor (half) and sixth floor of the library complex building. The office was on the fifth floor, and the cultural relics warehouse and exhibition room were on the sixth floor. The exhibition room area was 500 square meters, and the office area was 250 square meters, with a total area of 750 square meters.

Collection

After years of collection and excavation, there are nearly 2000 precious cultural relics of various historical periods. Among them are the Paleolithic unearthed from the daxianzhuang Paleolithic site in shanzuokou Township, the Neolithic, stone core, stone flake, stone ball, scraper, pointed utensil and other microlithic tools used by primitive humans unearthed from the Xiaodian village Neolithic site in Qinghu Town, the stone axe, stone hammer, stone sickle and other ground stone tools unearthed from the Xiaodian village Neolithic site in Qinghu Town, and the stone tools from the Shang and Zhou dynasties In 1993, a large number of precious bronzes, jades, woodwares, lacquerware, pottery, and glass masks were unearthed from the Han Tombs in Yinwan village, a hot spring tourist resort. In particular, a number of wooden slips and bamboo slips recording the administrative documents of Donghai County in the late Western Han Dynasty were unearthed from tomb No. 6, with a total content of more than 40000 words Rich, involving a wide range, for the study of China's late Western Han Dynasty politics, economy, culture, agriculture, military, folk customs, calendar, calligraphy, Han Fu and so on to provide a valuable detailed information.

Important events

After Donghai County Museum opened its own office in February 2006, it began to arrange the exhibition of historical relics of Donghai County, and completed the exhibition in October of the same year. The exhibition is divided into four parts: the first part is "ancient tracing", which mainly displays all kinds of paleontological fossils unearthed in the county, such as Mammoth incisors, molars, antlers, zhangya fossils, stone cores, stone balls, scrapers, pointed utensils of Paleolithic period, stone axes, stone axes, stone sickles, pottery net pendants, pottery spinning wheels, pottery rackets of Neolithic period; the second part is "ancient tracing"“ The third part is "ancient county collection", which mainly displays most of the cultural relics unearthed from Wenquan Yinwan Han tomb group, a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level; the fourth part is "Yihai Shibei", which mainly displays the collection of various historical periods after the Han Dynasty Fine cultural relics. The main feature of "Donghai County Historical Relics Exhibition" is "both comprehensive and focused". The four exhibition areas are not only independent of each other, but also connected with each other in the era. According to the characteristics of the Han Dynasty, the whole exhibition not only reflects the cultural connotations of every historical development period in Donghai County, but also highlights the essence of the Qin and Han Dynasties, such as the second part and the third part, which is the center of the whole exhibition. Among them, bronzes, jade articles, wooden slips, bamboo slips, and glazed masks are all the best works in the collection of cultural relics.

Organization setup

Donghai County Museum has 5 staff members, including 2 with intermediate title and 3 with primary title. They are responsible for archaeological excavation, collection of cultural relics, exhibition, security of cultural relics and social education.
