Qingyan Garden
Qingyan garden is the largest government garden in the history of water control and water transportation in China. It is a national AAA tourist attraction, a national cultural protection unit, and a national water conservancy scenic spot. It is known as "the first garden of Jianghuai River".
In Yongle period of Ming Dynasty, Yanyuan in Qing Dynasty was a part of the government office, which has a history of 600 years. In 1678, the Qing government set up an official in qingjiangpu to manage the river. Jin Fu, the governor of the river, dug pools and planted trees at the former site of some divisions in the Ming Dynasty. Later, the park gradually became large-scale after being renovated by the governor of the river. Qingyan garden was once called Xiyuan, Huaiyuan, Danyuan, Qingyan garden, Liuyuan, yeting Park and Chengnan park. In 1991, the park was renamed Qingyan garden.
The pavilions, platforms, buildings, pavilions and rockeries in the park are well arranged, with winding paths, long corridors and flowing water in a circle. The flowers and trees in the four seasons are flourishing, beautiful and elegant. The overall layout is: Huanyi villa, Huangshi garden and Hefang academy are distributed from south to north, and Kuixing Pavilion, Huaixiang hall and Hefang academy are located on the central axis. On the east side, there are some scenic spots, such as orderly garden, governor's riverway courtyard and so on. On the west side, there are some scenic spots, such as Yeyuan, Guandi Temple of Ming Dynasty and so on. Qingyan garden is a typical classical garden with the beauty of southern garden and the grandeur of northern garden.
The governor's River Department was the highest water control institution in the Qing Dynasty. It was a decision-making, command and management institution specially set up by the state outside the capital, and it was in charge of the Yellow River, Huai River and canal. Since 1678, there were 72 River governors in Huai'an in the Qing Dynasty, 58 of whom lasted 183 years; in 1861, the Qing government cut off the river governor, who was also in charge of river affairs, and moved to Yanyuan in the Qing Dynasty, which lasted 43 years; in 1904, the water governor was cut off, and the General Governor's office was changed to Jiangbei governor's office; in 1905, Jiangbei governor was set up.
The governor of the river course was directly under the command of the emperor. He had four roads, twenty-four halls and twenty-four (River soldiers) battalions under his jurisdiction. His "scale is so large that there are no two counties.". The main post of the governor of the river course is the second grade, or the first grade, and the deputy is the third grade. The imperial court often appointed higher ranking officials as river governors, such as Gao Bin, Ji Zengyun and others, who were awarded the title of University scholar.
Taihu stone rockery: built by Lin Qing, a landscape expert of the governor of the Qing Dynasty. Taihu stone is "thin, transparent, leaky and wrinkled". The stone is ancient, and the water is quiet. It has the grandeur of high mountains and steep cliffs, as well as the unique ornament of small bridges, flowing water and flowers, which fully reflects the architectural style of official gardens in Qing Dynasty.
Hefang Academy: the representative building of Qingyan garden. In 1750, Gao Bin, who was then governor of the river, built the "Hefang academy" in the north of Hechi to welcome Shengjia. The name of Hefang academy is higher than that of the garden. The lotus pool in front of the academy is surrounded by classical buildings, forming a centripetal and cohesive pattern, which makes people feel cheerful and quiet in the limited space.
Jinyulou: jinyulou used to be Qingyan restaurant, which was prosperous because of water transportation. Qingjiangpu has the most abundant banquet in the governor's Department of Jiangnan River, with the highest specification. It is known as "the banquet of silver and flowing water", and is the birthplace of Huaiyang cuisine.
South boat and North horse: the ancient city of Huai'an passes through the city with "Five Rivers". During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the transportation hub and throat of the north-south water transportation of the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is the grain transit center, river regulation center, water boat manufacturing center, water Transportation Command Center and Huai salt distribution center. It is known as the "South boat and North horse, thoroughfare of nine provinces".
But Gu Pavilion: take Li Bai's "but Gu came to the path, Lane horizontal green micro", meaning that the landscape here is unique and nostalgic.
Banana reciting Hall: it is surrounded by plantain, bamboo forest and big trees, forming a scene of empty windows, exquisite banana leaves, pine shadow and pool light. It is a place for officials to recite poems, paint and drink tea.
Rose Garden: it was built by Lin Qing, a river governor and landscape expert during the reign of Daoguang. There are scenic spots such as Hewang Pavilion.
He Shuai Fu: there are civil and military officials under the Jiangnan River governor's Department, "the Civil Affairs Department accounts for money and grain, purchases and prepares River materials, etc., and the military post is responsible for river defense maintenance.". The governor of river course commands 24 battalions and 20000 soldiers. Therefore, the governor of river course is also called Hetai and Hesai.
Evening singing Pavilion: bamboo, grass, willow and pine, which was once a place for literati to sing.
Wenqu River: it was excavated in 1734 and passed through the Confucian temple. According to the situation on the shape of the river, winding embankment, rocky mountains, clear green water Ling, crisscross fields.
Guandi Temple: built in the 11th year of Chongzhen reign of Ming Dynasty, it is the oldest building in the scenic area. It is also called Wu Temple. It is the only one left in Huai'an history. The temple is majestic and magnificent, surrounded by red walls and painted on the top.
Huangshi rockery: vigorous and unsophisticated, simple and powerful, steep cliffs, peaks protruding from various scenic spots, overlooking the whole garden scenery. Here to listen to the wind and drink incense, there is a kind of artistic conception of "bright moon and pine shine, clear spring and stone flow".
