Tomb of Jiang Wei in Lushan
There are many tombs of Jiang Wei, which are in Lushan County, Jiange County, Wenchuan County, Jiangyou county and Tianshui City, Gansu Province. In Lushan County, there is not only the tomb of Jiang Wei, but also the famous "Jiang City". Lushan County, called Qingyi in ancient times, belonged to Hanjia county during the Three Kingdoms period. It is said that Jiang Wei, who was firmly guarding the border, once built a city in Lushan and set up troops to defend against the Qiang people. It is said that after Jiang Wei was killed by Cao Wei's army in Chengdu, he was cut open to get his gall. However, when he saw that Jiang Wei's gall was as big as a fight, the enemy was very afraid. Jiang Wei's subordinates risked their lives to snatch Jiang Wei's gall from Chengdu back to Lushan and bury him on Fenghuang Mountain in the east of the city. Therefore, Jiang Wei's tomb is also called "Dan tomb". The tomb is round and surrounded by stones. In front of the tomb stands the tomb of Jiang Baowei, the Marquis of Pingxiang, the great general of the Han Dynasty. The statue of Jiang Wei's younger sister has long been worshipped in the main temple of Chengbei street in Lushan County. It is said that Jiang Wei's younger sister came to Lushan after her death to lead the people to continue the unfinished business of her elder brother. The Jiangqing building built in memory of Jiang Wei is still preserved in Lushan County. It is a three story building of Xieshan style, with a height of 14 meters and a magnificent appearance. It was rebuilt in 1445.
In the jianghou temple to the north of Jiangqing building, a tall statue of Jiang Wei was erected in Lushan County Museum. After the completion of the statue, the Museum held a temple fair in 1993. The temple fair focused on the unique performance of Nuo masks in Lushan area. In the local folk activities in memory of Jiang Wei, there is a game called "holding goose eggs" which is very interesting. In the game, a man climbs on the ground with many stones under his belly. He keeps rotating to avoid protecting the stones. The stone Hugger above wins by grabbing more stones from his belly. It is said that this is an ancient form of entertainment of the Qiang people, because Jiang Wei is a Qiang people, as a memorial. According to Guo Fengwu, director of Lushan County Museum, every year on August 15 of the lunar calendar, Jiang Wei died. On this day, Lushan people will go to Jiang Qinglou to participate in sacrificial activities. On this day, the whole city will set up 48 cailou and play drum music to commemorate the achievements of Jiang Hou.
