brief introduction
The park is divided into original plant area, natural forest exhibition area, aquatic plant area, haben nature reserve area (only for academic research, not open) and Fushan Miao garden. It is located in the basin surrounded by branches of snow mountains. The terrain is mainly distributed between 600-1200 meters above sea level, covering an area of about 1200 hectares.
The whole botanical garden shows the beauty of broad-leaved forest at middle and low altitudes. Native species such as Lauraceae and Fagaceae can be seen everywhere. There are more than 7000 kinds of plants in the 20 hectare exhibition area, which is almost the panorama of Taiwan's plant varieties. In addition to the interpretation service provided by the administrative center, the park has planned a 20 km long self guided trail and interpretation platform for tourists to enjoy themselves. It's a unique and pleasant experience to stroll along the most creative log trail (the longest wooden brick trail in Taiwan) and enjoy the complex plant landscape and beautiful scenery.
Aquatic plant area is the most important landscape area, with footpath, hydrophilic plank road, pavilion, etc. the hydrophilic wooden stack meanders along the water bank, which can observe the water ecology nearby. The footpath planning is perfect, and there are natural beauty in every corner of the pavilion, including the endangered Formosan pingpengcao. The pool surface is often covered with fog, misty clouds, mountain haze and water vapor interweave a dreamlike beauty, intoxicating. Throughout the park, we can see that many kinds of animals live here, which can be said to be a paradise for them to nourish.
The whole park is a "botanical garden", which is different from the forest recreation area. In order to avoid the influx of too many tourists and causing environmental damage, there are strict regulations on the opening hours, number of people and mode, and you need to apply in advance.
In addition to natural forests and native plants, more than 400 display plants are planted in the park. Visitors can enjoy them one by one along the 20 km long footpath in the botanical garden. Because Fushan Botanical Garden is mainly for plant planting and testing, it is not a general forest recreation area, so there are no catering and accommodation, barbecue and camping are strictly prohibited in the garden.
