The origin of place names
The old name of Changzhi township was "Changxing". During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, Qiu Yonghao, an immigrant from Guangdong Province, led his people to reclaim here and gradually formed a settlement. In 1920, the local government of Taiwan reformed and set up "changxingzhuang", which was under the management of Pingtung County, Kaohsiung Prefecture. In the early postwar period, it was changed to Changxing Township of Kaohsiung County; in 1946, it was transferred to Pingtung City, which took the meaning of "long-term stability" and changed its name to "Changzhi district"; in 1950, it was changed to Changzhi township of Pingtung County.
Historical evolution
In 1686, Qiu Yonghao, the ancestor of the Qiu family in huoshaozhuang's "Changxing village today", came to Taiwan. He had a lot of business talents. At that time, no other villagers came to Wandan village to reclaim land. He only stayed in Tainan as a business partner of Lulin and came to Pingdong to set up a branch. At that time, he found that the land in his hometown was fertile and worth reclaiming and living He quit his business and raised money to return to his hometown of Guangdong, where he recruited young people of Qiu, Zhang, Luo, Huang and Liao to come to Xiangyuan tree, now Xiangyang Village, as a stronghold to develop his own village. With the increase of cultivated land area, the farmers are good at planning irrigation. With Qiu Xianxian as the center of leadership and concerted efforts, his second son, zhishangong, was killed near sandimen on New Year's Eve because he was patrolling the river. His family was a hero of kaizhuang.

characteristic
Most of the villagers are Hakka, accounting for 65.43%, 32.16% and 2.41% respectively. They are honest, industrious and thrifty, and most of them are farmers. The villagers have multiple religious beliefs, temples or churches, which are the spiritual support of the residents. Betel nut, coconut, bamboo shoot, sugarcane and wax apple are mainly planted,
Rice accounts for only 25 hectares. The decrease of rice year by year is due to the labor saving and high economic value of betel nut, so the capital changed to betel nut. The aquaculture industry is also not very developed, mainly in freshwater fish ponds, including Wuguo fish, Thai shrimp and grouper. Animal husbandry is relatively developed, in addition to farm sideline feeding, there are more specialized large pig farms, especially Datong livestock farm, which is the largest pig farm in China.
