Together with district a, B and C of the old campus, it forms the new Chongqing University. Campus environment

Huxi campus is located in the planned western new town of Chongqing, which is an important part of Chongqing University Town. The distance between the campus and the main campus in Shapingba main street is about 15 km. It looks at Geleshan National Forest Park in the East and Jinyun Mountain National Forest Park in the West. Construction and development

In order to achieve the goal of "building a first-class, internationally renowned and research-oriented comprehensive university with distinctive characteristics" of Chongqing University, with the strong support of the Ministry of education and Chongqing Municipality, the new campus construction project of Chongqing University was launched in 2004. The new campus is located in Chongqing University City, which is an important area of the western new town in Chongqing. Because it is located in Huxi Town, Shapingba District, Chongqing, it is named Huxi Campus (hereinafter referred to as Huxi campus). Huxi campus is about 25 kilometers away from the old campus in Shapingba Main Street, 45 minutes by car.

Huxi campus covers an area of 3670 mu, including 2628 mu of teaching land, 1042 mu of faculty residential land and development land. The campus has shallow hilly terrain and wide sight. It looks at Geleshan National Forest Park in the East, Jinyun Mountain National Forest Park in the west, and Huxi river meanders along the southern boundary of the campus, with good natural environment.

Huxi campus started construction on December 18, 2004. It is planned to be implemented in three phases. By 2010, it will be basically built into a first-class campus with perfect functions, complete facilities, high standards, garden style and modernization. The first and second phases of the project have been completed and nearly 400000 square meters of buildings and supporting facilities have been built. In October 2005, the first batch of 7000 students moved in. In September 2006, the second batch of 7000 students moved in. These two groups of students left Huxi campus to study and live in the old campus. After two groups of undergraduate students moved in again in 2007 and 2008, a total of 14000 freshmen and sophomores in Huxi campus studied here , life.
