Development history
In 1541, the Xishan Temple (formerly known as Guandi Temple) was built, which went through reconstruction and extension.
At the end of 1986, the Xishan temple, a key scenic spot funded by the county people's government for restoration, was built as a museum after its completion. Xishan temple was built in the Ming Dynasty. It is built close to the mountain. It is simple, elegant and magnificent. It has been rebuilt and expanded from generation to generation, with a total area of 5072 square meters. Xishan temple and Sanyuan Palace (the former site of Shunde County peasant self defense army cadre school of the Cultural Revolution) all preserved the architectural style of the late Qing Dynasty. It is a cultural relic protection unit in Shunde City.
In 1980, Shunde District Museum was established.
In March 1992, after Shunde county was removed to build a city, it was transformed into Shunde Museum.
In April 2008, the construction of the new museum officially started.
In September 2009, the new building was officially capped.
In December 2013, the new museum was completed and opened.

The new museum of Shunde District covers an area of 32500 square meters, with a total construction area of 27000 square meters and a display area of 9084 square meters. It is composed of the main building and the auxiliary building, including three floors above the ground, four floors in some parts and one floor underground, with a maximum of 26 meters in some parts. The main building is the visiting area, which is composed of basic exhibition hall, special exhibition hall and temporary exhibition hall. The total area of the basic exhibition hall is about 4751 square meters, with two permanent exhibition halls: "Shunde people and Shunde things" and "Shunde ancestral hall history exhibition hall". The exhibition hall covers a total area of 2913 square meters, with six special exhibition halls, namely "overseas hometown exhibition hall", "Ming and Qing furniture exhibition hall", "cultural relics exhibition hall", "Bruce Lee exhibition hall", "calligraphy and painting exhibition hall" and "Cantonese opera art exhibition hall". The temporary exhibition hall covers an area of 1420 square meters and is used to hold various temporary exhibitions. In addition to the exhibition area, there are various service and functional areas in the main building, including academic research room, multi-functional conference room, library, food center, rest area, baby care room, shop, etc., to provide various services for the audience. "Shunde people and Shunde affairs" exhibition: focusing on "Shunde people and Shunde affairs", the exhibition comprehensively narrates the historical features of Shunde, starting from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, until the liberation of Shunde on October 28, 1949. The exhibition is divided into six parts: "long time", "hardworking tuwo people", "Zhuang County in Lingnan", "Yuxiu Zhongling", "thick custom and honest wind", "beacon fire in Shuixiang", refining Shunde's brilliant achievements in archaeological discovery, cultivation and cultivation, industrial and commercial management, elite sages, folk customs, liberation of Anti Japanese War, etc. Through the 6-meter-long crocodile bone, the Eastern Han Dynasty dome lamp pottery figurines and other precious cultural relics, as well as new exhibition means such as pictures, sculptures, restoration scenes and multimedia, the three-dimensional display of Shunde people who have been vigorous and vigorous for thousands of years has opened up the wonderful story of fertile land pingchou and Lingnan Zhuang county.
Exhibition of ancestral hall history: Shunde ancestral hall is a collection of ancient temple construction methods and traditional crafts, as well as "Three Sculptures and two sculptures" (brick, wood, stone, pottery, and gray) with distinctive local characteristics. It has a miniature of Luo's ancestral hall, which can represent Shunde ancestral hall architecture, as well as Shunde ancestral hall culture and social folk customs, such as dragon dance.

Bruce Lee Exhibition: this exhibition hall displays many photos of Bruce Lee and his related articles. With his family history, life, martial arts and performing arts as clues, it describes in detail his origin and life with Shunde. Shunde Museum has a large dynamic LED screen in the public space area to introduce the contents of the exhibition hall and the exhibition situation, so as to provide reference for visitors. Opening Hours:
It is open to the public free of charge (except special exhibitions). Admission will be suspended from 9:00 to 17:00 every Tuesday to Sunday (16:30). It will be closed every Monday (except legal holidays and special circumstances).
