Xinjie chapel, also known as "the first church of China", is the earliest Christian Church for Chinese in China. In the 1930s, the church was rebuilt because of the collapse of its roof. The new church was designed by a famous designer in Shanghai and built by famous craftsmen in China. The church is of Roman architectural style. There are six columns in front of the corridor. On the top of the red slope, there is a hexagonal bell tower. In the tower, there are American bronze bells purchased a hundred years ago. The red two slope roof is of masonry structure, which is ancient and magnificent. On the wall of the front porch of the hall are inlaid with stone plaques "the first holy Hall of China" and "the place where the LORD lives".
