Zhuomurari snow mountain is one of the seven fairies juxtaposed with Mount Everest in Yadong County folklore. The mountain is precipitous, with an altitude of 7326 meters. Also known as shennv peak, it is located in Pali town, Yadong County, 50 km away from the county seat and 250 km away from Shigatse City. The Lhasa Yadong highway passes through the foot of the mountain. The mountain is the seventh peak of Himalayas, which is a fault block mountain system composed of Early Paleozoic strata and Himalayan granite, forming a huge natural pass. It is a unique scenic spot for sightseeing and exploration in Shigatse area.

Introduction to the mountains

Zhuomurari snow mountain is well-known at home and abroad. It is a good place for adventure tourism and scientific investigation tourism. The first summit was completed on May 21, 1937 by a five member British team via the southern route. The most recent summit was completed on October 18, 2006 by a 7-member multinational team through the northwest line, which won the golden ice pick award of that year.

Geographical location

Zhuomurari snow mountain is located in Pali town, 50 kilometers away from the county. The mountain, about 7400m high, is a fault block mountain system composed of Early Paleozoic strata and Himalayan granite, forming a huge natural pass. Because the zhuomurari snow mountain range runs across the middle of Yadong County, Yadong county is high in the north and low in the south, and the county is naturally divided into two distinct geomorphic units.

It is 7314 meters above sea level, located at 89.2 degrees east longitude and 27.8 degrees north latitude, with abrupt peaks and steep slopes. The west side of the peak is in China, and the east side is in the kingdom of Bhutan.

Zhuomurari snow mountain ranges run across the middle of Yadong County, resulting in the high terrain in the north and low terrain in the south of Yadong County, which divides Yadong into two different geomorphic units.

Natural scenery

The top of the mountain is covered with snow all the year round. The beautiful face and hair of the goddess can be seen at any time. At the foot of the snow mountain is Duoqing lake. In ancient Tibetan mythology, zhuomurari snow mountain and Duoqing lake are known as holy mountains and holy lakes. When local people pass by holy mountains, they will offer pure hada and highland barley wine to pray for blessing. When viewed from afar, the lake and the mountain are integrated. The charming Goddess Peak and the bright Duoqing lake are inlaid on the lush Pali grassland. The snow capped mountains, lake water, blue sky and red sun complement each other, forming a perfect picture.
