The origin of the predecessor

Hebei University of economics and trade

In 1968, May 7th Cadre School of Hebei Province was founded.

In 1980, the May 7th Cadre School of Hebei Province was renamed Hebei cadre school.

In 1982, Hebei cadre school was upgraded to Hebei Construction College.

In 1983, Hebei Construction College was renamed Hebei Economic Management Cadre College.

In 1994, Hebei Economic Management Cadre College was renamed as Hebei Economic and trade college.

Hebei Institute of Finance and Economics

In 1978, Hebei finance and trade school was upgraded to Hebei finance and trade college.

In 1983, Hebei University of Finance and trade changed its name to Hebei University of Finance and economics.

Hebei College of Commerce

In 1984, Hebei commercial cadre school was upgraded to Hebei commercial college.

In 1992, Hebei Commercial College changed its name to Hebei commercial college.

 

Merger development

In 1995, Hebei University of Finance and economics, Hebei University of economics and trade, and Hebei College of Commerce merged to form Hebei University of economics and trade.

In 1998, Hebei University of Finance and economics was incorporated into Hebei University of economics and trade.

In 2000, Hebei business school was incorporated into Hebei University of economics and trade.

In 2002, Hebei electronic technology school was merged into Hebei University of economics and trade.

 

In May 2012, it was rated as "National Graduate Employment typical experience university" by the Ministry of education.

In 2016, the University was selected as a second-class University in Hebei Province and approved three national first-class discipline construction projects in Hebei Province.

Department major

As of June 2019, the university has set up 15 undergraduate colleges, 3 teaching departments (centers), as well as graduate college, Marxism college, continuing education college, School of economics and management (Independent College), School of international education and central and Eastern Europe International Business Research Institute, with 63 undergraduate majors.

 

Discipline construction

As of September 2017, the university has 10 provincial key disciplines and 1 provincial key development discipline, of which "industrial economics" is an excellent key discipline in Hebei Province; it has 9 first level academic degree master programs, 55 second level academic degree master programs, and 12 professional master degree categories; in March 2018, it added 4 professional master degree categories. In the "double first-class" construction of Hebei Province, the university has been included in the second level construction sequence of first-class universities, and three first-class disciplines of Applied Economics, law and Marxist theory have been included in the national first-class discipline construction project.

As of September 2017, the school has a total of 1964 teaching staff, including 1110 full-time teachers, 614 teachers with senior titles, 407 doctors and doctoral candidates, accounting for 36.7% of full-time teachers.
