Cuiyuan Academy

Cuiyuan academy is the best preserved Academy in Jishan. It has a history of more than 300 years. Cuiyuan Academy was built by Liu Qicai, the founder of Jishan's advocacy of education, at the end of Shunzhi period in the Qing Dynasty (1661). In 1724, Liu Yuanhui, the second year of Yongzheng period in the Qing Dynasty, passed the entrance examination and rebuilt the Cuiyuan academy after 63 years. During the Anti Japanese War, Cuiyuan was the location of the provincial health and epidemic prevention brigade. In May 2005, it was confirmed as the Sixth Batch of cultural relics protection units in the province, and the monument was erected in August of the same year.
