Yancong temple is located on the Shaoping hillside in the south of Cangxi City, facing Cangxi County across the river. The existing Yancong temple is a quadrangle wooden structure building with three main halls and one west corner of the front hall. The patio area is 66.06 square meters. "Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty" is written in the main hall of Daliang word. There are clay statues of the three saints of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, thousand handed Guanyin and eighteen Arhats in the temple, all of which are destroyed in "0". The ancient cypresses around the temple are luxuriant, and the trees cover the road. Quiet and interesting, visitors forget to return. In April 1983, the people's Government of Cangxi County listed it as a cultural relic protection unit at the county level.
Yancong Temple
Yancong temple is located in Shaoping mountain, Lingjiang Town, Cangxi County, facing the county across the river.
It was built in the late Tang Dynasty and destroyed in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty
Later, it was rebuilt. According to Cangxi County annals of the Republic of China, "Yancong temple was the most ancient, and it was called a resort in song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties." There is a sentence in the poem "climbing shaopingshan Yancong Temple" written by the poet Wen Tong of the Northern Song Dynasty. Liu Bing, who lived in Cangxi during the Zhengtong period of Ming Dynasty (1435-1449), wrote in his poem you Yancong temple that "the high Pavilion faces the mountain with mist and the curving fence faces the grass". Liu Heng, a former Tongzhi of Changde Prefecture of Hunan Province in Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, wrote in the book "rebuilding the ancient road guide of Yancong Temple": "the south of Jiangcheng is dedicated to qulanruo, which has long been known as zhaoti, with bright mountains, beautiful waters and lush trees You come here to invest in Bifang and strip cattle and herds. You not only wash their shape, that is, the golden rope feels the road, but also collapses. It's beyond walking... " It is proved that before Zhengde of Ming Dynasty, ancient Yancong temple had been destroyed. In front of the existing Yancong temple, there is a remnant stone pillar of an ancient archway. There are several clay Bodhisattvas in the main hall and on both sides of the hall. The plastic arts have their own characteristics.
The existing Yancong temple is a quadrangle courtyard with a wooden structure. The main hall is three rooms wide, 11.02 meters long and 7.7 meters deep; the corner room (West of the main hall) is 4.3 meters wide and 10.09 meters deep; the front hall is three rooms wide, 10.05 meters long and 7.6 meters deep; the west corner room is 4.4 meters wide and 4.6 meters deep; the patio is 10.01 meters long and 6.6 meters wide. The patio area is 66.066 square meters. "Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty" is written in the main hall of Daliang word. There are clay statues of the three saints of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, thousand handed Guanyin and eighteen Arhats in the temple, which were completely destroyed in the "Cultural Revolution". The pines and cypresses around the temple are luxuriant and green, and the avenue is shaded by trees. It has a sense of quiet and secluded, far away from the hustle and bustle. The protected area of Linyin road is 1772 square meters. Quiet and interesting, visitors forget to return.
In April 1983, the people's Government of Cangxi County listed it as a cultural relic protection unit at the county level. On September 24, 2002, Guangyuan Municipal People's government announced it as a cultural relic protection unit of Guangyuan City.
