"Jiexing villa", a 135 year old historic site in Tanzi District of Taichung City, was completed in the 5th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of more than 2000 square meters. It was built by general Lin Zhaoyong of the Qing Dynasty, who helped to pacify the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. It has the reputation of "the top ten traditional dwellings" and "the top of Taiwan's dwellings". "Jiexing mountain villa" is a quadrangle building with horse Ridge back style and many dragon guards in Southern Fujian. It was built with superior building materials directly transported from the mainland. The craftsmen are also contemporary famous teachers. They have exquisite performance in brick withering, wood withering, stone withering, Jiaozhi pottery and structure. Jiexing villa is regarded as "withering everywhere, calligraphy everywhere and painting everywhere". The painting must be intentional and auspicious. For example, a piece of Jiaozhi pottery beside the gate, with the shape of a yellow and a white, two cats and a handful of vegetables, is the "green" of the vegetables and the "white" of the white cat, implying that Lin Zhong is "innocent all his life".
Jiexing Villa
Located at No. 88, Section 2, Tanfu Road, Dafeng Village, Tanzi Township, it is an ancient residence of the Lin family, covering an area of more than 2000 square meters. It is a quadrangle building in the south. There is a half moon shaped pool in front of it and a dragon on the left and right. It is an earthen house with red bricks on the outside. The walls are inlaid with a lot of burnt flowers and fine brick carvings. The patterns are complex and beautiful, and there are carved beams and painted buildings everywhere.
