Putuo Mountain College of China Buddhist College is a Chinese Buddhist College approved by the State Bureau of religious affairs, sponsored by China Buddhist Association, undertaken by China Buddhist College, Zhejiang Buddhist Association and Putuo Mountain Buddhist Association, with Putuo Mountain Buddhist Association as the main organizer. The college is located in Zhujiajian Island, a national scenic spot in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, across the sea from Putuo Mountain.
College profile
The College started construction in 2004. After seven years of construction and investment of 360 million yuan, it was completed and put into use in 2010. In July 2011, it was officially approved to change its original name "College of education of China Buddhist College (Preparatory)" to "Putuoshan College of China Buddhist College". The overall design of the college adopts the basic symmetrical pattern of the central axis of the Buddhist temple, with a total construction area of 49970 square meters.
Development and evolution
Putuo Mountain College of China Buddhist College, formerly known as Zhejiang Putuo Mountain College of Buddhism, was officially established in 1988 and began to recruit students. The college is located in Fuquan Buddhist temple at the foot of Baihua Mountain, Putuo Mountain, where Master Yinshun, the great master of contemporary Buddhism, is a monk. The Abbot of Putuo Mountain Miaoshan is the head of the college.
It is reported that according to the new school running plan, Putuoshan college, China Buddhist College, will reach the maximum design scale in five years, that is, there will be 8 classes for men, 30 for each, and 2 classes for women, 40 for each, with a total of 320 people. Through ten years of efforts, it will become a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary and modern national key university of Buddhism and an important international exchange base of Buddhist culture in China.

The students should meet three requirements: they must be young monks at least 18 years old, have a high school degree and pass the entrance examination.
