Dazhi Temple

Dazhi temple was first built in the Nanliang period (502-557 AD). It has a history of more than 1500 years. After restoration, it has the highest indoor statue of Sakyamuni in China. It is a pure land of Buddhism with green branches and profound simplicity. The courtyard is not big, with Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, pharmacist hall, dizang hall, Luohan hall, jade Buddha Hall, bell and Drum Tower, etc.

There is a statue of Sakyamuni in front of and behind the main hall. It is full of gold, majestic and dignified. It is the largest Buddha in China. On the left and right sides of the Great Buddha are Manjusri and Puxian Bodhisattva. On the East and west sides are 24 heavens. The back hall is for Guanyin Bodhisattva and his 156 incarnations. Five hundred Arhats are carved in Dongyang wood with deep relief. They are extremely beautiful.

Dazhi Temple

Dazhi temple, originally known as Dazhi courtyard, was built in the Southern Dynasty Liang ad (502-557). The temple was built by Liang Zhengnan's general Shentu dishe's house. It has a history of more than 1500 years, which is earlier than the famous ancient temple Tiantai Guoqing temple in Sui Dynasty. Emperor Wu of Liang believed in Buddhism, and temples were scattered all over the south of the Yangtze River. Du Mu's poem "480 temples in the Southern Dynasties, many buildings in the misty rain" was a portrayal of many temples at that time. Dazhi temple was also built at that time. The reason was that General Liang Zhengnan Shen Tu Di she built the temple.

Dongyang Nanxiang people have a catchphrase - "really a monk, don't know Dazhi Temple", ridicule people's ignorance. Sometimes the sentence "a family does not know a family's affairs, a monk does not know Dazhi Temple" is used together to mean that every family has its own difficult scriptures.

Today's Dazhi temple was relocated and rebuilt by Hengdian group in January 1994, covering an area of 280 mu and a construction area of 20000 square meters. There are Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, pharmacist hall, dizang hall, Luohan hall, jade Buddha Hall, bell and Drum Tower, etc. The restored Dazhi Chan temple has revived its ancient style, rigorous layout, majestic and magnificent momentum. It is not only a simple and deep pure land of Buddhism, but also a scenic spot with green branches and elegant environment. Under construction are the Sutra Pavilion, Buddha Hall and other buildings.

Dazhi temple is listed as the shooting base of martial arts films in Hengdian film and Television City, and is favored by many kung fu film makers. The TV series "Xiao Li Feidao", "peerless double pride", "kitchen king of the world" and "Kuteng" are all shot here; Hong Kong director Zhang Xinyan has long planned to shoot "Shaolin childrengong" here. Abbot

Now the abbot of Dazhi Chan temple is 78 years old. He is from Daishan, Zhejiang Province. At the age of 14, he converted to master Hongshun of Yongfeng temple in Ningbo. He received full precepts in Qita temple and studied precepts in Guanzong temple for three years. For ten years, Tiantai Guoqing Temple Buddhist research society has taught itself as a monk to a professor. It has successively taught to the modern eminent monks such as master Yinguang, master Yuanying, master Dixian, master Xingci, master Xianming, master Minzhi, etc., and has been praised repeatedly. He is well versed in the book of the world, profound in the canon, and the law of entering and leaving the world. There are tens of thousands of disciples at home and abroad. After the "Cultural Revolution", he was employed as the acting abbot and the first abbot of Putuo Mountain Puji temple. He served as the vice president of Putuo Mountain Buddhist Association, the vice president of Putuo Mountain Buddhist College, the executive director of Zhejiang Buddhist Association, the president of Shaoxing Buddhist Association, and the abbot of Xinchang great Buddhist temple.

In 1995, he was the abbot of Dazhi temple. At present, master jing'en, 39 years old, was born in Qidong City, Jiangsu Province.

In 1983, he became a monk in Tongan temple, Yongxiu County, Jiangxi Province. In September 1986, he received a full commandment in Zhiyuan temple, Jiuhua Mountain, Anhui Province, and paid homage to the old monk Congshan as his teacher,

In October 1986, he studied in Tiantai Guoqing Temple Buddhist research society.

In August 1995, he served as the supervisor of Dazhi Chan temple.
