Aba Teachers College University, located in Shuimo ancient town, Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, is a provincial undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of education. It has been selected into the excellent teacher education and training plan of Sichuan Province. It is a demonstration unit of national unity advanced collective and national unity and progress creation activities in Sichuan Province, and the first batch of Pilot Universities of the scientific work ability improvement plan of the Ministry of education.

ABA Normal University is the predecessor of Maoxian simple rural normal school, which was founded in 1938. ABA normal college was established with the approval of the State Council in 1978, renamed ABA normal college in 1992, and upgraded to ABA normal college with the approval of the Ministry of education in April 2015.

As of the beginning of December 2018, the campus covers an area of 1024 mu, with a building area of about 245200 square meters. It has a collection of more than 1.05 million paper books and a total value of more than 80 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment. It has 13 secondary colleges, 2 research institutes, 12 non physical scientific research institutions and 1 Art Troupe. Historical evolution

In 1938, ABA Normal University was founded as a simple rural normal school in Shenmao county.

In 1940, Weizhou rural normal school was founded and named as Weizhou rural normal school in order to reflect the "theory of saving the nation through rural education" created and directed at that time.

In 1950, Weizhou rural normal school changed its name to West Sichuan Weizhou normal school.

In 1953, West Sichuan Weizhou normal school was renamed Sichuan Weizhou normal school.

On December 28, 1978, with the approval of the State Council, Sichuan Weizhou normal school (part) was rebuilt as ABA normal college, which is located on the Bank of Minjiang River in Wenchuan County.

In July 1982, the school began to recruit preparatory classes for ethnic minorities. In July 1984, the preparatory department for ethnic minorities was officially established.

In 1992, Aba Teachers College changed its name to Aba Teachers College.

In May 2008, Wenchuan earthquake destroyed the school hardware facilities. After the earthquake, the school was located in Shuimo Town, Wenchuan County for reconstruction.

In September 2011, teachers and students moved to the new campus of Shuimo town.

In 2015, the Ministry of Education approved ABA normal college to be upgraded to an undergraduate college, and its name was changed to ABA normal college.

On July 2, 2020, he will join the Art Alliance of colleges and universities in Chengdu Chongqing economic circle.

Teaching achievements

In 2013, the school won the first prize of "outstanding achievement award of campus culture construction in Sichuan". In 2015, the school won the two prize of "outstanding achievement award of campus culture construction in Sichuan".
