Taichung Park, also known as Zhongshan Park, is the oldest Park in Taichung city. It was built during the Japanese occupation of Taichung. In 1900, the Japanese implemented the urban correction plan for Taichung city. In addition to planning the streets and park facilities in Taichung City, it was built on the basis of the private garden named Ruixuan donated by Wu Fenglin's family, and combined with the North Gate Building of the old city and the northeast of the original Dadun street Paotai mountain (dongdadun Guqiu) at the end of the mountain is the land for construction. All the construction funds are donated by local officials and people. Taichung Park was completed and put into use in 1903. There is a pavilion in the center of the lake in the park.
On April 17, 1999, the Taichung Municipal government listed it as a municipal historic site, and the Taichung Park is often used as the venue for the Lantern Festival.
Taichung Municipal government completed the restoration on October 19, 2007. The biggest change is that the original red roof of huxinting was restored to the red copper roof of the copper tile period after discussion by the restoration Committee.

Cast iron lamp frame is also set on the main column. The top of the roof is designed with four ridges and circular arcs as the top height. It was built to commemorate the opening of the railway in Taichung on November 24, 1908.
