Yunju mountain is 969.4 meters above sea level. Its main peak is 1143 meters, covering an area of 216 square kilometers. The beautiful natural scenery on the mountain is regarded as a "unique scenic spot" by celebrities of all ages. It is a national forest park with fresh air, pleasant climate, crisscross streams and bridges, abrupt rocks, towering ancient trees and luxuriant vegetation. From ancient times to the present, Yunju mountain is not only a fairyland on the right side of Jiajiang River in Yunling mountain, but also a Buddhist temple with a high reputation of 400 rivers. Many literati in the past dynasties, such as Bai Juyi, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian, Yan Shu, Zhu Xi, Wang Anshi and so on, have been attracted to mountaineering, leaving nearly 300 immortal poems. Among them, Su Shi, a writer of the Song Dynasty, once visited the mountain for many times, sighing and praising it as "the most desperate place in the world, living in the sky".

Yunju mountain scenic spot is a national key scenic spot. Located in the southwest of Yongxiu County, Jiangxi Province. With a total area of 216.5 square kilometers, the main peak is 969 meters above sea level. It is 76km away from Nanchang, the provincial capital, and 58km away from Changbei International Airport. Beijing Kowloon Railway, Changjiu Expressway and national highways 105 and 316 all reach Yongxiu county. It is a mountain type natural scenic spot for religious sightseeing and leisure sightseeing. Yunju mountain was known as Ou mountain in ancient times. It was famous for taking refuge in the Warring States period when Ou Ji, the general of Chu state, escaped to this mountain to practice Taoism. In the late Tang Dynasty, it was changed to Yunju mountain because of the frequent cloud and fog around the mountain.

Development history

From ancient times to the present, with its beautiful natural scenery and Zen Buddhism, the famous Taoist temple has been called by the ancients: "Yunling Jiajiang right, known as high 400 continents", "the world's most desperate, the sky's clouds". Zhenru temple on the top of the mountain is the birthplace of Cao Dongzong Buddhism. It was built in 808, the third year of Yuanhe reign of emperor Xianzong of Tang Dynasty. It is one of the first batch of key open temples announced by the State Council and one of the three model forests in China. It has a high reputation in Southeast Asia and North America. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the abbot of Zhenru Temple served as the two presidents of the Chinese Buddhist Association. In the early days of the people's Republic of China, the honorary president of the Chinese Buddhist Association was the abbot Xuyun of the temple, and Abbot Yicheng is the president of the Chinese Buddhist Association.

Temples such as Tong'an, Yaotian, Yunmen, Tong'an, Zhishu and Nanyang, and nunneries such as Shangshang and Guanyin are surrounded by mountains. The sound of Zen all year round and the long Buddhist landscape enlighten the unique spirit of Xiufeng. For more than a thousand years, there have been many famous monks, such as Bai Juyi, Su Dongpo and so on.

Along the way, there are many strange mountains and rocks, streams and waterfalls, ancient temples, archways, Buddhist pagodas, and places of interest. The mountain has fresh air and lush vegetation. There are more than 2000 kinds of natural vegetation, including ancient fir trees, camphor trees, gingko trees, Osmanthus fragrans trees, oak trees, Bole trees, fragrant fruit trees and Podocarpus arvensis trees. The cool summer air temperature is only 22 degrees. Yunju mountain scenic spot was officially opened to the public in 1985, with hundreds of thousands of pilgrims visiting the mountain every year.

The main scenic spots are: Lotus City, Baihua Valley, Qingshi lake, quanci'ao and Huangjing cave. Wulongtan: located in Baihua Valley Scenic Area, it falls five levels continuously from the stream, which impacts the huge rock into five deep and round pools.

Guanyin mirror: next to Wulongtan, there is a natural round well on the rock. The water is as green as a mirror. Visitors can see their heart and face. It is commonly known as Guanyin mirror.

Yunjushan waterfall: located at the foot of Wulongtan in Baihua Valley, the stream rushes against the cliff, forming a waterfall with a drop of 120 meters and a width of 36 meters.

Ma Shuishui waterfall: located on the cliff of Huangjing cave, it has a small entrance and a large waterfall with a drop of 148 meters. It flows straight down to Jinyintan. It's very spectacular in the tree.

Immortal takes off his boots: on a big stone beside the gold and silver pool, there is a huge foot. On the cliff beside, there is another huge stone like a boot.

Immortal footprints: located in the Yanxia stream of HongJue Daochang, shuichong rock bed is divided into two water pools. The big one is nearly 2 meters long, like footprints, and the little one in front is round.

Baishui waterfall: in fact, it is three waterfalls of upper, middle and lower Baishui. The upper Baishui falls 36 meters, forming three deep pools; the middle Baishui falls 56 meters; the lower Baishui falls nearly 100 meters, which is magnificent and spectacular.
