Badong Yangtze River Bridge
Badong Yangtze River Bridge is a river crossing channel in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Hubei Province, China. It is located on the Yangtze River channel and is an important channel connecting the north and south sides of Badong County.
The construction of Badong Yangtze River Bridge started on December 26, 2000;
The main girder closure project was completed on January 22, 2004, and the whole bridge was connected;
It was put into operation on July 1, 2004, and the opening ceremony was held.
Badong Yangtze River Bridge starts from Guangming Avenue in the north, crosses the Yangtze River Waterway in the north and ends at Yanjiang Avenue in the south. The total length of the line is 2100 meters, and the main bridge is 900.6 meters long. The bridge deck is a two-way four lane second-class highway with a design speed of 40 km / h.
Construction process
In 1992, when the Transportation Bureau of Badong County formulated the plan for the reconstruction of transportation facilities in Badong County in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, it proposed a "bridge scheme" for the construction of the Yangtze River bridge across the 209 national highway.
On October 10, 1998, Hubei Provincial Planning Commission and transportation department held a review meeting in Wuhan, and passed the review of the pre feasibility study report of Badong Yangtze River Bridge; on December 26, Hubei provincial transportation planning and Design Institute and other relevant departments conducted on-site investigation on Badong Yangtze River Bridge.
On December 26, 2000, the construction of Badong Yangtze River Bridge started and a foundation laying ceremony was held;
On January 22, 2004, the closure of the main girder of Badong Yangtze River Bridge was completed, and the whole bridge was connected;
On July 1, Badong Yangtze River Bridge was opened to traffic and a ceremony was held.
On December 11, 2006, Badong Yangtze River Bridge completed the completion acceptance.
On July 7, 2009, the bridge deck of Badong Yangtze River Bridge was dried;
On June 18, 2015, Badong Yangtze River Highway Bridge was installed with anti-collision facilities.
On February 28, 2019, the lighting project of Badong Yangtze River Bridge will be carried out; on March 6, the installation of LED point light source imaging components for stay cables of Badong Yangtze River Bridge will be carried out;
On April 27, Badong Yangtze River Bridge completed the final lighting debugging of the lighting project.

Badong Yangtze River Bridge is located in Badong County, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, China, connecting the north and south sides of Badong County, 72 kilometers away from the downstream Three Gorges dam; the bridge starts from Guangming Avenue in the north, crosses the Yangtze River Waterway in the north, and ends at Yanjiang Avenue in the South; the route through the bridge is national highway 209.

Badong Yangtze River bridge consists of main bridge, two pylons, stay cables, piers, approach bridges and Interchange Ramps; the main bridge section is arranged from northwest to Southeast.

Badong Yangtze River Bridge has a total length of 2100 meters and a main bridge of 900.6 meters, with a span of (40 + 130 + 388 + 130 + 40) meters, of which the main span is 388 meters long and the bridge width is 22 meters. The total width of the top surface of the main beam is 22 meters, the total width of the bottom surface is 22.5 meters, the height of the side rib is 2.4 meters, the height of the middle part of the beam is 2.62 meters, and the thickness of the top plate is 32 cm; the length of the standard section of the main beam is 8 meters, the length of the section near the end of the side span is 5 meters, and the length of the closure section in the middle span is 2.8 meters. The height of the upper part of the pylon is 126.5m, the height of the pylon above the design elevation of the bridge deck is 88.886m, the width of the pylon along the bridge direction is 6m, the full width of the pylon across the bridge direction is 3.2m, and the height of the crossbeam is 5m. A total of 96 pairs of stay cables are set, the standard compressive strength is 1670 MPa, the nominal diameter of steel wire is 0.07mm, and the relaxation degree is 2.5.

As of April 2019, a total of 6600 point light sources have been designed on both sides of Badong Yangtze River Bridge, and the total length of installed lighting is more than 20000 meters.
Operation
Fare system
On May 1, 2009, Badong Yangtze River Bridge cancelled the toll system, and the bridge was free of charge.
Traffic matters
From February 3, 2020, the Ministry of transport of Badong County will implement 24-hour traffic restriction on the tail number of motor vehicle license plate (including temporary license plate) in the urban area of Badong County and Yesanguan market town. The restricted part includes Badong Yangtze River Bridge, and the normal traffic recovery time will be announced separately.

The main construction problems and characteristics of Badong Yangtze River Bridge are as follows:
1. Badong Yangtze River Bridge is located at the mouth of wuxia gorge, which is a special super long span bridge;
2. Due to the influence of the impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir area and the elevation control of the existing riverside roads on both banks, the super-high tower pier structure must be adopted;
3. The pylons on the South and north sides of Badong Yangtze River Bridge (above the top of pile cap) were 207 meters and 212 meters respectively, which were the tallest pylons in Asia at that time. There were a series of problems and key technologies to be applied in the construction.

1. In the construction process of super-high tower (pier) long-span cable-stayed bridge, the structural alignment and stress control technology are studied;
2. Research on the concrete quality control method under the condition of long distance and super high lift pumping;

4. Research on installation technology and damping measures of long and large stay cables;

Qiaotou square
As of July 2009, a bridgehead square has been set up at the bridgehead of Badong Yangtze River Bridge to meet the daily leisure and fitness needs of the citizens in Badong County.
Night light show
As of April 2019, Badong Yangtze River bridge uses different setting procedures to show all kinds of light shows, which are integrated with the landscape on both sides of Badong Yangtze River to produce moving night scene effect, create a flexible and warm bridge image, and create a delicate and energetic night scene atmosphere of Badong city.
Value significance
After the completion of Badong Yangtze River Bridge, it will fundamentally change the situation of crossing the river along the national highway, and speed up the relocation of the Three Gorges immigrants in Badong and other counties.
