Baisha crater is located in Baisha farm, 9km southeast of Yacha Town, with a diameter of 3.7km. It is the first crater found in China. It was formed when an asteroid fell here and exploded about 700000 years ago.

Scientists found fragments of meteorites in the crater, in which they found typomorphic minerals that only exist in meteorites. The type of meteorite is achondromite, which is round and oblate, weighing 3.75 kg and hard. It is the only discovery in China. Baisha crater is the only relatively young crater that can be identified in China, and it is also one of more than ten craters with meteorite fragments in the world.

Chinese scientists have scientifically estimated the size of the "extraterrestrial visitor" that hit the Baisha earth, believing that it is a meteorite with a diameter of 380 meters. How much energy does such a large planetary mass produce when it hits the land of Baisha? It is estimated that the impact energy is almost equal to 360 atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima, Japan.
