Jinming temple in Xiamen is located at No.4 under huangcuoxitou, Siming District. It is located on the side of Huandao Road, a coastal resort with beautiful scenery. It is the only Buddhist holy land near Huandao Road in Xiamen. It faces Taiwan's Kinmen across the sea and enjoys geographical advantages.
The temple was built in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1875-1908). It was originally a place for preaching the heretical congenital religion, and later returned to Buddhism. The first Abbot was Yang zhangyugu. In 1920, the rich businessman Jiang Yide donated money to rebuild it. Unfortunately, he was soon hit by the disaster of returning salary. Only one plaque and several window frames with the title of "spiritual enlightenment" were left. In the 12th year of the Republic of China, Yang zhangyugu passed away and was inherited by his disciples Xiao mubi and Su Donglai. During the Anti Japanese War, the temple was almost destroyed by gunfire. Chen aitonggu, the third director of the temple, worked hard to protect the temple, and the temple finally ushered in new vitality. In 1992, aitonggu invited Puduan master of Minnan Buddhist College to be the supervisor of Jinming temple. In addition to the old, the mages innovated and promoted the Dharma. For a while, good faith gathered, which seemed to revive the scene.
On March 20, 2001, the reconstruction project of the temple was started. It is composed of Mountain Gate, release pool, bell tower, Drum Tower and main hall. The first floor of the main hall is dizang hall and nianfo hall, the second floor is Guanyin Pavilion, the third floor is zangjing Pavilion, and the fourth and fifth floors are Daxiong hall. It imitates the style of the Tang Dynasty and shows the beauty of being spacious, handsome and peaceful. In addition, a four storey inner courtyard is built, which is equipped with upper hall, sengliao, storehouse, Zhaitang, etc. After the completion of the Jinming temple, it will become another beautiful scenic line of the coastal scenic belt with the unique style of "simple and powerful".
