Huang Xing's former residence
Huang Xing's former residence is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is located in liangtang, YANGTUO township (now Huangxing Town), Changsha County, about 15 kilometers east of Changsha City. It is a folk house with mud brick and green tile.
Huang Xing's former residence was built in the early years of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty. Huang Xing was born here on October 25, 1874. It was repaired in 1981. It covers an area of about 4300 square meters. There are a total of 12 houses, including the left and right main rooms of the upper hall and the left and right main rooms of the lower hall, wing rooms and cross rooms. "There is a patio between the upper hall and the lower hall. In front of the main hall, there are six square wooden doors as screens. In the back, there is a back room with a double slope roof. In the middle of the front roof, there is a three-star statue of fortune and longevity. The former residence is adjacent to the pond in front and Tian Long in the back, with neighbors on the left and right. Orange trees are planted in the courtyard.
Layout structure
Huang Xinggu lives in liangtang, YANGTUO village, Huangxing Town, Changsha County, Hunan Province. The former residence is Huang Xing's ancestral property. It was built in 1862. On October 25, 1874, Huang Xing, the great founder of the 1911 Revolution, was born here and lived here for 22 years.
After 1903, in order to raise funds for revolutionary activities, Huang Xing sold his former residence and land property successively, and then changed its owner several times. After liberation, the former houses were returned to the government and allocated to seven farmers. The memorial hall of Huang Xing's former residence was established in 1980. In 1981, the farmers moved out and some houses were repaired. In the same year, the former residence was announced as a provincial key cultural relic unit by Hunan provincial government and a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council in 1988.
Three repairs
Since its establishment, the memorial hall of Huang Xing's former residence has been restored three times. From 1980 to 1981, the first phase of the restoration project was completed, and 12 main houses were restored. A total of 28 pieces of original furniture and articles were collected from Mr. Huang Weimin, the descendant of Mr. Huang Xing, and Liu anding, the former residence of Shijiahe. In the upper hall, Huang Xing and his parents' houses were restored.
In 2001, the second phase of the restoration project was completed, 12 main houses were repaired and 41 houses in the two compartments were restored. After the completion of the restoration, a large number of furniture, farm implements and daily necessities of the late Qing Dynasty were collected from various places for comprehensive restoration and display in the former residence.
In 2004, the third phase of the restoration project was completed, and the Huzhuang River and the back garden were restored. So far, Huang Xing's former residence has been fully restored.
Environment of former residence
Huang Xing's former residence, covering an area of 28 mu, is located on the right side of the Liuyang River and on luzhiling in the former dynasty. In front of the gate, there are three ponds side by side. In the past, weeping willows were planted all over the pond. The trees were thick, and the shade was thick. The cool pond was named liangtang. There are 53 houses in the former residence, which are Adobe wood structure with hard hilltop and small green tiles. The main building block faces southeast in the northwest, with two rooms and five rooms, and is equipped with East and West Wing rooms.
The former residence has a pond in front of it, a garden behind it, and a river protecting the village around it. According to the expert's strict argumentation, a comprehensive restoration display has been carried out in the former residence, which truly reflects Huang Xing's family profile and the environment in which he grew up, and shows the folk customs of the late Qing Dynasty.
The exhibition hall of Huang Xing's life story was opened in the East Chamber of Huang Xing's former residence to introduce the main achievements of Huang Xing's life. The back garden covers an area of 20 mu. It is planted with local traditional seedlings and flowers, such as azalea, peach and plum in spring, pomegranate and lotus in summer, osmanthus in autumn, citrus and pomelo in autumn and wintersweet in winter. You can climb a hill and have a long view. You can take a rest in a wooden pavilion. Jiangnan farm manor is simple and elegant, which makes people linger.

Huang Keqiang was the founder of the Republic of China and was often called Huang Keqiang during the 1911 Revolution. Huang Xing and Sun Yat Sen are often referred to as "Sun Huang". On October 31, 1916, Huang Xing died in Shanghai. On April 15, 1917, he was honored by the elders of the Republic of China and was buried in Yuelu Mountain, Changsha, Hunan Province. His works include Mr. Huang Keqiang's complete works, Huang Xingji, unpublished manuscript of Huang Xing and Mr. Huang Keqiang's achievements in calligraphy.

Historical evolution

On August 11, 2011, in order to welcome the centenary of 1911, the fourth restoration project of Huang Xing's former residence in Changsha County, Hunan Province was under way. It is also the largest renovation since the museum was built in 1980. At the same time, a 3000 square meter Memorial Hall for Hunan figures of the 1911 Revolution will be built in the rear of the former residence, and construction is expected to start at the end of this year.
On the morning of June 8, 2012, the Hunan Federation of overseas Chinese and the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics solemnly held the first batch of overseas Chinese related cultural heritage awarding ceremony in Hunan Hotel, which was also the first time that the National Federation of overseas Chinese held the awarding ceremony of overseas Chinese related cultural heritage.
