Yanzhou City Site

Yanzhou City site is located in chengmenkou village, Xidayao Town, Dengta City, Liaoyang City, 30 kilometers away from Liaoyang City. It is a military castle built by Koguryo after occupying Liaodong city (now Liaoyang) in the early 5th century. Originally known as "Baiyan city", it is now a provincial cultural relic protection unit. It is a well preserved ancient Koguryo mountain city in Liaoning Province. The perimeter of Yanzhou City is 2500 meters, and the terrain is dangerous. It is a place that ancient military strategists must fight for. The city is built close to the mountains, winding and magnificent. To the south is a steep cliff, which is a natural defense against the enemy. Under the cliff, the prince river passes by the wall, imposing momentum. There are stone cities in the west, North and East. The height of the city wall is 5-8 meters. It is built with big stone blocks and has a prominent square "horse face" every 40 meters. There is a commanding post on the commanding height of the city, which is about 5 meters high. A 45 meter long and 35 meter wide inner city is built around the command post. Standing on the podium, you can have a panoramic view of the whole city. According to documents, in 645 ad, Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, led his troops to fight against the Koguryo garrison. Yanzhou City is a symbol of wisdom, courage and enterprising spirit of ancient Koguryo people. Today's Yanzhou City contains the essence of history and culture, with the aura of clear mountains and beautiful waters, has become a tourist resort for people to nostalgic sightseeing.

Traffic information: 1. Take the minibus from Liaoyang passenger station to Xidayao, and then transfer to Xidayao to Guantun;

2. Take bus No.10 from Liaoyang (from Liaoyang to Xiaotun) and get off at the terminal Xiaotun. Then take Xiaotun to Gaoya and tell the conductor to get off at the bridge;
