South Yellow ancient road
Nanhuang Ancient Road (also known as Huangnan ancient road) is located at the junction of Linhai City and Tiantai County, Zhejiang Province. It starts from Qianyang village, Nanping Township, Tiantai, and ends at Dafan village, Huangtan, Linhai, with a length of about 12 km. Nanhuang ancient road, built more than 1000 years ago, is an ancient commercial road.
The South Yellow ancient road was already very famous in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Emperor Qianlong once ordered officials to draw "eight views of the rooftop", including the figure of the South Yellow ancient road, but it was called "autumn scenery of Nanshan" at that time.

The South Yellow ancient road was built in the early Northern Song Dynasty. It was an important folk trade channel in eastern Zhejiang until the Qing Dynasty. It mainly carried salt, green tea, cloth, silk, porcelain and other commodities with frequent exchanges. It was a very important national economic and cultural exchange corridor.
In the 1970s, with the improvement of highway traffic, the South Yellow Road gradually faded out of people's sight.

Maple trees are planted along the ancient road, which is one of the best preserved maple leaf ancient roads in China. It has been listed as one of the eight national Maple appreciation bases as famous as Xiangshan.
