Zhoushan Opium War site park, also known as Zhushan Park, has four main areas: Zhoushan Opium War Memorial Hall, "three chief soldiers" memorial square, a forest of inscriptions of 100 generals and ancient tombs of soldiers killed in the anti British war. Among them, Zhoushan Opium War Memorial Hall is the main building of the opium war ruins park, which mainly displays the historical relics and pictures of the two battles in Dinghai.
Zhoushan opium war ruins park
Located in xiaofengling, Dinghai District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, the former Zhushan Park, covering an area of 12 hectares, was built in June 1997. In April 2002, Zhoushan City of Zhejiang Province decided to change the name of Dinghai Zhushan park to Zhoushan opium war ruins park, and build some related Memorial facilities.
In the second Opium War, 4800 soldiers of the Qing Dynasty bravely fought against the invasion of Dinghai by the British army. Many of them died and killed more than 410 British soldiers. Zhushan was one of the main battlefields of that year. In the park, there is a forest of Steles with inscriptions by more than 30 generals, including Zhang Zhen and Chi Haotian. Along the stone steps of the park, the top of the mountain is the main part of the scenic spot. You can also have a bird's-eye view of Dinghai City. The Opium War Memorial Hall, Sanzhong temple, Dingyuan ancient fort, memorial sculpture and Tomb of the dead soldiers are all located here. The overall layout of the park is solemn and has a high grade of historical and cultural tourism.
