Xiabafang

Wanjiang xiabafang, with its history and modern splendor, is one of the well preserved villages in the Pearl River Delta. People who have been here call it "Dongguan 798".

Xiabafang

Xiabafang is a famous historical and cultural village in Guangdong Province. It is also a living block integrating creativity, design, leisure and art. It is a regional plate with the titles of Tianzifang, Gulangyu and 798 in Dongguan.

geographical position

Xiabafang, located at the junction of Wanjiang, Nancheng and Dongguan City, belongs to Batou community, Wanjiang District, Dongguan City. It is within the planning scope of Dongguan central ecological leisure area and Dongguan central business district. The area of the village is about 0.7 square kilometers, with a permanent population of about 1750, of which 723 are registered residence. Xiabafang collects the cultural essence of Batou community, which well preserves the ancient buildings such as Zhan's ancestral hall, Shaoguang Zhan's ancestral hall, and the pattern of Lingnan water villages in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is one of the villages with relatively complete preservation of Lingnan water culture in the Pearl River Delta region, and is known as the "Pan Museum of Lingnan water culture" in Dongguan City.

Scenic spots

There is a wooden and gold plaque, a temple of zhangwangye, an ancient ferry, three fengshuitang, three earth temples, a flag pole clip of qingmashi, a stone tablet, and seven national three-level ancient trees in the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty. There are also more than 270 residential buildings built in the Qing Dynasty to the 1980s. In addition to the relatively complete preservation of traditional buildings, Batou also inherits the Lingnan traditional customs. Lingnan traditional folk customs such as Qingming ancestor worship, Dragon Boat Festival and tuannian have been inherited.

Wanjiang district actively excavates the traditional cultural resources of xiabafang, creates cultural and leisure creative blocks, and makes it a cultural and leisure hot spot for white-collar workers and literary youth in Dongguan. The developing xiabafang will take the opportunity of successfully declaring the third batch of famous historical and cultural villages in Guangdong Province to gradually transform xiabafang into a harmonious village of folk culture with scientific planning and construction, developed cultural industry and complete supporting facilities.

Route 1: No.11 (Jinqiao market – Luoyong), No.21 (Dongcheng science and Technology Park – Hanlin school), No.25 (city bus station – Liuhua bus station), No.29 (city bus station – south of Guancheng science and Technology Park), get off at Batou Xincun station, and then walk about 380 meters to Batou village. All famous shops are nearby.

Route 2: take No.11, No.25, No.29 bus and get off at Batou village committee station. Go ahead for about 200 meters and then turn right. When you see that the Batou police office is on your right, please keep going. When you get to the gate of xiabafang, go downhill.
