Xiliu Lake in the western suburb of Zhengzhou was once famous in the 1970s and 1980s. In the 1970s, in order to solve the serious water shortage situation of Zhengzhou City, Wang Hui, Secretary of Zhengzhou municipal Party committee and director of the reform committee, led the citizens to use the Mangshan irrigation station built by students, workers and cadres in the northern suburb of Mangshan to lead the water from the Yellow River to the Shifo desilting basin in Zhengzhou City, and then to Xiliu Lake and Xiliu Lake after sedimentation Shiyuan water field, Jinshui River and Xiliu Lake were one of the supporting projects of diverting the Yellow River into Zhengzhou at that time. The origin of the name of Xiliu Lake is now difficult to verify in written archives. Combined with the formation conditions of Xiliu Lake, Xiliu Lake should take the meaning of "the Yellow River flows into Zheng in the west". In 2003, the 21 episode TV series "honor" was shot in Zhengzhou, and Xiliu Lake was called "Xiliu Lake" in the play.

Brief introduction to lakes

Xiliu Lake is a man-made lake formed by using an old section of Jialu River and chenwuzhai dam to store water. There are all kinds of trees planted on both sides of Xiliu Lake: pine, weeping willow and Sophora tree. They are tall and straight, keeping out the poisonous sunlight. Most people sit in it and feel refreshed. Xiliu Lake is divided into North and South lakes, and the area difference is not too much. Along the bank Bank of Xiliu Lake, the willows are blowing gently and the waves are shining. If you take a boat to float around the lake or fish leisurely, you will feel a little romantic again. That's really "treating this lake as the West Lake".

For this 70's man-made lake, the workers of Zhengzhou boiler factory (now Zhengzhou Boiler Co., Ltd.) and other factories worked overtime day and night to build two famous yachts -- Zhengzhou 51 and Zhengzhou 71. They were launched on May Day and July 1 Party's birthday. The ticket price is 5 cents per stop. Now you can see the traces of the North Wharf of Xiliu Lake and the middle wharf of Shiyuan.

Lake condition

On the morning of July 17, 2015, a large number of duckweeds and dead fish appeared on the west end of the South Park of Xiliu Lake Park. According to staff estimates, at least 3000 Jin of fish died. According to the reporter's investigation, a pollution source was found in the north of BAGUAMIAO village in the west section of hanghai Road, and it was suspected that the cross district sewage flowing into Xiliu Lake was the cause of the dead fish. Relevant staff said they would deal with the matter as soon as possible.

Passing by Xiliu Lake, looking out of the window, the lake is so thin that there is only a shallow stall in the middle, which is less than one thousandth of what it used to be. Even the Xiliu Lake section of Chemical Road has no water. After the North Lake dried up, the farmers had planted crops. For those who haven't seen the beautiful scenery of Xiliu Lake before, it's hard to imagine that the former Xiliu Lake is so rich, full and attractive.

The pollution of Xiliu Lake is also very serious. Dumping construction waste into Xiliu Lake and collecting garbage fees has become a trend of comparison. Seeing that all the villages by the lake have built houses by filling the lake, they have become rich, and with the construction of the subway, the geographical location here has become more important, so some villages want to learn from other villages to build houses by filling the lake. Villagers around Xiliu Lake also began to compete to fill the lake for land. A villager told reporters that they all "don't worry about selling after building a good house, just repair the subway, and everyone's life is better." He said that if the Xiliu Lake could be managed well and the surrounding areas of the village could be built more beautiful, they would not fill the lake casually. In March 2010, Mr. Zhang, a citizen of Zhengzhou, reported to a local newspaper that for more than a month, there were 200 or 300 garbage trucks carrying construction waste to Xiliu Lake every day.

Xiliu Lake, known as the "big water tank" in Zhengzhou, has been polluted all the time, which affects the nerves of the citizens. At the end of September 2009, the "ecological water channel water conveyance project in the south of Zhengzhou City" was completed, and the whole ecological water system project was completed. The project will directly transport the water from the Yellow River to Shiyuan water plant, and Xiliu Lake will no longer be used as the standby water source.

Today's Xiliu Lake is in a state of depression, which makes people feel sad. I haven't seen the beautiful scenery of Xiliu Lake before. I don't think this is the West Lake in Zhengzhou.

Start to store water

On the morning of December 24, 2012, the Yellow River water from Mangshan pumping station roared down and flowed into the intake of Xiliu Lake, the main channel of Yellow River diversion. This means that the Xiliu Lake began to officially store water.

Zhengzhou Xiliu Lake Ecological Park (North Park), which will be built soon, is located in the area from Longhai Railway to Huahua road. After the Xiliu Lake (Beiyuan) is full of water, the water surface area can reach 180 mu (120000 square meters).

With the continuous injection of ecological water from the Yellow River, Xiliu Lake Park (North Park) is expected to present a beautiful landscape with blue sky, green shore and clear water.

Park opens

It's a wonderful way to accept a thousand hectares of green waves and harvest four seasons. On the morning of December 29, 2012, the Xiliu Lake Ecological Park (North District) was officially completed and opened.

Xiliu Lake Ecological Park (North District) is located in the north of Longhai railway, south of Huahua Road, west of West Third Ring Road and east of Yellow River Diversion Canal, covering an area of 81 hectares (1215 mu), which is equivalent to nearly four bishagang parks. According to the principles of ecology and artistry, the design follows the concept of large specification, high density, multi landscape, multi node, arbor, shrub and flower, and Sijiqing. The main projects include lake bottom desilting, lake water purification, sluice construction, shore landscape construction, etc., planting 10500 trees, 93000 flowering shrubs, 173000 square meters of ground cover plants, forming characteristic avenues such as Fatong Avenue, Yulan Avenue, Huangjin Avenue (mainly planting ginkgo), Haitang Avenue, etc., and completing 12300 square meters of square pavement, 19500 square meters of road pavement, Chenwu square, Lanqiu square and other leisure squares have been built; Water Street Xinbu, Yanbo Lanting, Pinghu Wenyu, landscape tree array, Xihu Shijiu and other 24 scenic spots on both sides of the lake have been built, including 7 viewing platforms and 840 meters wooden plank road; a landscape bridge and a sluice have been built; the lake bottom has been dredged, so that the average depth after impoundment is about 2.5 meters.

At present, Xiliu Lake Ecological Park (South District) is under construction. When it is completed, it will become the largest ecological landscape corridor, residents' cultural and leisure hot spot, ecological creative industry base and high-grade green waterfront home in Zhengzhou.

In 2010, Zhengzhou plans to invest 300 million yuan to continue the construction of xiliuhu ecological park, with a planning area of about 94 square kilometers. The key area is 34 square kilometers north of Zhongyuan Road, and the planning area is about 15.4 square kilometers west of West Third Ring Road, east of Ruida Road, north of Zhongyuan West Road and south of science Avenue.

Zhengzhou will also speed up the construction of new parks. To speed up the construction of Xiliu Lake Ecological Park, we should focus on the restoration and protection of the original ecology. As the core scenic spot of Xiliu Lake Ecological Park, Xiliu Lake Park should be started first, and the construction should be started within this year. At the same time, promote the construction of sculpture park and other park green space, and complete the construction of Sculpture Park (phase I) and Botanical Garden Phase II by the end of 2010; do a good job in the planning and design of bronze Park and large nursery base, land acquisition and other preparatory work.

According to the land use planning and spatial layout, the overall functional layout structure of Xiliu Lake planning is "one core, one belt, two pieces and six districts". Among them, "one core" refers to the core area of Lvyou service along the lake in the south of Dongfeng Road, with commercial office as the main land use; "one belt" refers to the landscape green belt along the lake, with water area, public green space and cultural entertainment as the main land use; "two pieces" refers to the commercial service center of the area, and "six districts" refers to the residential groups distributed on both sides of Xiliu Lake.

"Once the planning is completed, the construction of Xiliu Lake will start immediately. After the completion, it will become a good place for Zhengzhou citizens again." A person in charge of Zhengzhou Municipal Bureau of landscape architecture said.

Shen Yi, the chief designer of Shen Yi architects, who participated in the planning of Xiliu Lake in 2004, also said that balanced development is very important for the development of a city. "If Zhengzhou city can build Xiliu Lake according to the planning, Xiliu Lake will become a fulcrum for the balanced development of Zhengzhou City, creating a green lung for Zhengzhou City, echoing the core area of Longhu in Zhengdong New District 。”

The Xiliu Lake in the new planning will become a good place for Zhengzhou citizens again. The specific landscapes include: "galaxy" water curtain, open-air stand, landscape sculpture, open lawn, art gallery, lovers' garden, sculpture park, parking lot, catering square and five-star hotel area.

In April 2010, Zhengzhou municipal government approved the abolition of Xushui town. The area under its jurisdiction was divided into two parts.
