History of growing up school
The origin of the predecessor
Xiangjiang normal school
In November 1970, in order to meet the urgent need of teachers for popularizing primary and secondary education, Changsha Municipal Bureau of Education decided to select high school graduates from ten municipal secondary schools for short-term training, which was initially named the teacher training class of Changsha Revolutionary Committee (hereinafter referred to as teacher training class). The first training class is located in Changqiao branch of Changsha No.1 Middle School (now Changsha No.1 Middle School). A total of 530 students are selected and divided into six Majors: politics, mathematics, military sports, music and foreign language. After nearly three months of training, they were assigned to all primary and secondary schools in the city in February 1971 to supplement the teaching team. The second phase, the third phase and the fourth phase are located in the Middle School of Changsha No.1 Middle School in Qingshuitang, Changsha (now the teaching and living community of No.1 Middle School in Changsha).
In September 1972, the municipal reform committee decided to move the teacher training class to Nanmen Provincial Grain cadre school (now Hunan Vocational College of economy and trade), and officially named it Changsha normal school.
In January 1974, because the provincial grain cadre school was in urgent need of housing, the municipal reform committee decided to allocate part of the campus of yuhuating bank cadre school (now the Yuhua campus of Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College) to Changsha normal school, and moved out of the former site of the provincial grain cadre school together with the Party School of the municipal Party committee. On August 3 of the same year, the municipal reform committee's reply on changing the name of Changsha normal school and increasing the number of city No.25 middle school decided that because the Provincial Department of Education decided to restore Changsha normal school, the Changsha Normal School in Changsha was renamed as Changsha Xiangjiang normal school, and the school was located at the original bank school in yuhuating, southern suburb.
On February 7, 1975, the municipal reform committee issued the notice on the relocation of Changsha Xiangjiang normal school. The Municipal Committee decided to move Changsha Xiangjiang normal school from yuhuating to the site of No.25 middle school in gaotangling City, Changsha County, which is the former site of No.4 Middle School in Changsha City (now in Wangcheng County).
In 1978, the central government approved the restoration of Wangcheng County. Because the school where Xiangshi moved to gaotangling was originally the seat of the county Party committee of Wangcheng County, Xiangshi was faced with relocation again.
In March 1978, Xiangjiang Normal University moved to Pingtang No.15 middle school (now Changsha Yuelu experimental middle school) for transition.
On April 25, 1981, the Provincial Department of education agreed to set Xiangjiang normal school in Hongshan temple, the northern suburb of the city.

After the school was renamed, it is still at the junior college level. It is under the management of the province and the city, with a three-year schooling system. The general normal major and engineering major coexist, mainly for the general normal major, mainly for the enrollment and distribution of Changsha area.
