Misty little Dongjiang

Located in Zixing City, with a water surface area of 160 square kilometers and a water storage capacity of 8.1 billion cubic meters, it is equivalent to half of Dongting Lake. Surrounded by forests and clear water, there are 13 islands and peninsulas in the middle of the lake. There are beautiful mountains and waters on the island, and the scenery is charming. Among them, the largest island, douriyan, has dourisi, and there are deep and strange karst caves in the temple. Swan mountain, the National Forest Park, is located on the Bank of Dongjiang Lake. Wuman Xiaodongjiang, located at the main entrance to the north of the scenic spot, is a long and narrow Pinghu Lake about 10 kilometers long, which is composed of Dongjiang Hydropower Station in the upstream and Dongjiang Hydropower Station in the downstream. All the year round, the mountains on both sides of the lake are emerald, the water vapor on the lake is evaporating, the clouds are shrouded, and the fog is mysterious and beautiful. The fog moves from time to time, just like a "white drill" waved by a fairy. It is extremely beautiful and can be called a unique one in China.

Misty little Dongjiang

Wuman Xiaodongjiang is a scenic spot in Dongjiang Lake, a national 5A scenic spot in Zixing City, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province.

The scenic spot is located in the downstream of Dongjiang Lake, from Dongjiang Lake tourist center to Dongjiang dam, with a total length of about 12 km. From April to October every year, due to the temperature difference effect, layers of mist will rise on the river surface, covering the Xiaodongjiang river. The scenery is beautiful, just like a fairyland. Therefore, the scenic spot here is named wuman Xiaodongjiang.

Every summer and autumn, the water vapor is gathered in the gorge between the green peaks, and there is a dazzling spectacle of white fog and steaming clouds. The mist is ethereal, and does not leave all day. From morning to night, it deduces different charm.

The fog of dawn is like a sweet dream. At that time, it was quiet and the moon was like a hook. On the quiet surface of the river, a layer of milky white mist spread out smoothly. Thick and heavy, it was like a soft velvet quilt, which covered the babbling Xiaodongjiang tightly and looked warm. It was also like a snow falling quietly in the middle of the night, waiting for an unexpected surprise to Xiaodongjiang after waking up. And the people on the shore, in addition to constantly press the shutter of the camera, also hold their breath, for fear of disturbing the hazy dream. As the weather brightened and the temperature rose, the calm mist began to float and spread. First, it was like light smoke, curling around, and then like thin cicada gauze, dancing in the air. Later, it turned into white clouds, floating and coming without a trace, rendering the mountains on both sides into elegant and light Song and Yuan Dynasty landscape painting. When the sun comes out and the fog gathers, large and small cotton like clouds will rise from the whole canyon. The clouds are intertwined with each other, ups and downs. In the morning glow, they are all coated with bright colors, golden and dazzling. At this time, the Xiaodongjiang river is as straight as the glass world in the west, which is surrounded by auspicious clouds and full of flowers. It makes people feel like a fairyland. It was only in the dead of night that Xiaodongjiang gradually faded away the beauty and brilliance of the day, revealing another kind of serenity and beauty. The blue river is as quiet as a virgin. The boat in the distance was moored by cable, and the candle flickered. All sounds are quiet, and there is no sound outside. Only the touching clouds, like flying fairies, are reluctant to leave. This sentiment reminds people of the distant "Night Mooring on the maple bridge" and the empty "fishing alone in the cold river".

From April to October every year, when the sun rises in the East and sets in the west, on the narrow and clear lake of the Xiaodongjiang River, gossamer dances everywhere, like a white jade belt dancing in the canyon. The green river, the drifting fishing boats and the white fog make up a thick ink painting. As soon as the fisherman let go, the golden fishing net made a wonderful arc in the air, breaking the tranquility of the river, which was another scene in the picture.

What is the cause of the fog?

The formation principle of misty Xiaodongjiang river is the same as that of Jilin rime, which is caused by the "temperature difference effect". Because the water of Xiaodongjiang river flows out from the bottom of the dam more than 150 meters deep when Dongjiang power station generates electricity, the water temperature is maintained at about 8-10 degrees throughout the year. In the morning, it is hot and cold, and in the evening, it is cold and hot. As a result, the temperature difference is formed and water mist is produced, which is like a dream.

Best fog viewing season

The best fog viewing season in Xiaodongjiang is from April to October every year, especially in June, July, August and September every year. The temperature is higher, and the fog in Xiaodongjiang is thicker and the most beautiful. The best viewing time of the day is between 5:30 and 8:00 in the morning and between 17:30 and 20:30 in the afternoon.

Best viewing point

In order to facilitate tourists to watch the fog, the scenic spot has built a fog observation plank road along the Xiaodongjiang river. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery at close range. The best viewing point is in the section of Xiaodongjiang bridge No.2 and No.4. Take the bus to the No.2 Bridge station, then walk along the plank road to the No.4 bridge.

Misty Xiaodongjiang ticket

There are four kinds of tickets for Dongjiang Lake, which are 85 yuan for line a (boutique line 1), 152 yuan for line B (boutique line 2), 338 yuan for drift ticket and 220 yuan for luxury tour around the island. If you just want to see the misty little Dongjiang River, you only need to buy the ticket of Route 1, that is, the ticket of route a (boutique Route 1).

You need to buy tickets with your ID card. The tickets are valid on the same day (two days for line B boutique line 2), but the transportation fee of the scenic spot can only be used once. If you go the next day, you have to buy a 30 yuan / person ticket separately.

Dongjiang Lake tourist area offers price concessions to the following specific groups: 1. Children under 10 years old (excluding 10 years old) or under 1.3 meters in height, the elderly over 65 years old (including 65 years old), the disabled and the disabled soldiers are free of charge with valid certificates (the transportation expenses are borne by themselves). The price of transportation in the scenic spot is half price discount for the above-mentioned tickets. Dongjiang River rafting is a project with strong participation and selectivity. The rafting objects have specific requirements and do not enjoy the above preferential policies.
