Xiangfu temple is located in zhaiqianwan, Yingchun Township, Wujin County, Changzhou (now Mashan, Binhu District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province). The founding date is unknown, and the name of the original temple is unknown. At the beginning of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty, hang Yun, a native of Li, moved to Jinli. It is said that the first emperor of Qin traveled to Kuaiji and passed by this mountain, so it is called Qin Lu. The mount footprints on the rocks of Xiangfu Chan temple are named Maji mountain. It is said that Xuanzang, a monk of the Tang Dynasty, came back from Tianzhu (India) and traveled to the southeast. Hang Yun, the right general, accompanied him to Maji mountain. What he saw was like the scenic spot of West Tianling (Jiu) mountain. He praised that this place could be called Xiaoling mountain in the East. From this temple, it was named Xiaoling mountain temple. There was a story about Shikan Ji's opening Xiaoling mountain according to his teacher's instructions. Xiangfu temple was the most secluded place in xiaolingshan temple. Xiangfu temple is adjacent to Taihu Lake, with waves and clouds shining. After the temple, "three peaks ring, dragon and tiger arch.". In front of the hall, "the shadow of the pagoda falls for a long time.". "If the cloud nest, if the moon cave, if wansongju, are scattered monks. In the flow of water, there is a bridge called Shuangrui; in the mountains, there is a pavilion called Wanghu. Longjing is to the east of the kitchen and Lianchi is to the north of the hall. The jade palace is hidden among the green pines and bamboos, and the bell and drum chants reverberate among the clouds, forests and mists. It can really be said that it is a place of Brahma, a place of Buddha, and a scenic spot of Lingshan.
Xiangfu Chan temple, where the monks used to sit and study, watch the wind and listen to the rain, carry water and firewood, and plant trees, is still imaginable.

Historical origin
From the main hall of Xiangfu temple to the south, there is a big bronze bell hanging in the left bell tower, which is what we call "the first bell in the south of the Yangtze River". The so-called "first bell" refers to the weight and diameter of the bronze bell.
The bronze bell of Xiangfu temple, weighing 12.8 tons, has a maximum diameter of 2.5 meters and a total height of 3.5 meters. It is named "Xiangfu temple bell". It is the largest bronze bell in Jiangnan area so far. Xiangfu chanzhong was cast by Wuhu shipyard in Anhui Province. It is the largest bell in tonnage since the founding of the people's Republic of China. When the bell rings, it lasts three minutes.
Layout structure

On the side of Zhaobi facing the gate of Lingshan scenic spot, there is a large relief with the theme of the story of "monk Tang bestows Zen on xiaolingshan". On both sides, there are inscriptions of "rebuilding Xiangfu temple and building Lingshan Buddha". In addition to the material is made of 2mm thick brass plate, the size of the shape is exactly the same as the Buddha's "right hand".
At present, master Mingshan, the abbot of Xiangfu temple, is 85 years old. He is from Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. He graduated from Wuchang Buddhist College in 1933, and concurrently serves as vice president of China Buddhist Association, President of Jiangsu Buddhist Association and member of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. At present, master Wuxiang of Jianyuan is 72 years old. He was born in Dongtai, Jiangsu Province in 1938. He graduated from China Buddhist College and concurrently serves as executive vice president of Wuxi Buddhist Association and vice president of Charity Association.

It was built in Tang Dynasty
Xiangfu temple was first built in the Tang Dynasty. It was built in the song, Ming and Qing Dynasties. After several renovations, it became a large-scale temple. It reached the state of "You Bo Hua blooming in the western regions, Fu Tu FA performing superior Zen".
In 627 ad, during the reign of Zhenguan of Tang Dynasty, hang Yun Guan, a native of Majishan, went to the right general and built a temple in the mountain after returning to the field. In Chang'an City, general hang Yun made friends with Tang Monk Xuanzang. When master Xuanzang came back from Tianzhu, he saw that the terrain at the southern foot of Qinlu peak was similar to the spirit eagle in the West. He called it Xiaoling mountain, and ordered his disciples to explore it. Based on this method, he became the first generation of Ci'en sect.
Reconstruction period
In 1009 ad, during the reign of Xiangfu in Song Dynasty, it was rebuilt and renamed "Xiangfu Temple".
In 1124 ad, the temple was opened in the fourth year of Xuanhe.
In 1371, it was rebuilt in the second year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty.
In 1447 A.D., in the tenth year of Zhengtong, a Book of Dazangjing was granted.
In 1553 ad, the main hall was rebuilt in the 30th year of Jiajing.
In 1583 ad, in the fifth year of Longqing, the Sutra hall was rebuilt.
In 1574, the first year of Wanli, the tower was rebuilt.
In 1626 ad, the fourth year of the apocalypse, Dabei hall was built.
In 1669 ad, during the reign of Emperor Kangxi and the reign of emperor Dingwei, suzijing in Haiyang donated money for reconstruction. It lasted nine years. He invited Lingyan Shihong to open the Linji patriarchal clan seat in Zhongcheng. There were many monks in the temple, and the incense was in full swing. During this period, all the monks presided over it. At that time, it was called "Shenjun Temple".
In 1861, in the year of Gengshen in Xianfeng, the temple was destroyed by war, and there were no sutras. Only a dozen of Tianwang hall, storehouse and Xiangji kitchen survived.
In 1914, it was rebuilt in the third year of the Republic of China, also known as Xiangfu temple.
In 1933, in the 22nd year of the Republic of China, Xiangfu temple was sold to Tianning Temple in Changzhou as the lower courtyard of Tianning Temple. After the death of the eminent monks of Tianning Temple, they all entered the tower here.
In 1938, the Japanese army implemented the "three lights" policy in Mashan, and most of the houses in Xiangfu temple were destroyed.
