Development history
Pidu District Museum is a local comprehensive cemetery Museum established on June 5, 1984 with the approval of Sichuan Provincial Economic Planning Commission, Department of Finance and Department of culture. It is subordinate to the Pixian Cultural Bureau of Chengdu City.
The ancient wangcong temple, the site of Pidu District Museum, is a memorial Temple commemorating Du Yu and bieling, the emperors of ancient Shu during the spring and autumn and Warring States periods. It was the new temple of Cong Di as early as the northern and Southern Dynasties. When Emperor Jianwu of Qi and Ming Dynasties (494-498), Liu Jilian, the governor of Yizhou, moved the former wangcong temple in Guanxian county (now Dujiangyan City) to Pixian County to form wangcong temple. During the Northern Song Dynasty, it was greatly expanded and destroyed in the war in the late Ming Dynasty. The existing ancient building is a two-way courtyard type rebuilt in 1747 by Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. There are two mausoleums of Wangdi and congdi nearby. The tomb is about 8 meters high. The upper part of the tomb is dense and lush. In 1991, the people's Government of Sichuan Province announced the wangcong temple as a provincial cultural relic protection unit, and carried out expansion and maintenance.
