The peculiar burial customs and funerary objects with strong national characteristics of Kele site are of great significance to reveal the ancient Yelang Culture and explore the history of Yelang. It is the most important archaeological discovery since the implementation of Yelang archaeological plan in Guizhou in recent years. From September to October 2001, Guizhou Provincial Institute of cultural relics and archaeology, together with Hezhang County Wenguan Institute, excavated 108 tombs from the Warring States period to the Western Han Dynasty in ancient Yelang period. There are many important discoveries, among which some peculiar burial customs and funerary objects with strong national characteristics are more rare. The most striking one is the special burial style of "taotou burial". "Mantle burial" refers to the burial method of covering the head of the dead with a copper cauldron. It has been found in Hezhang Cola in the past, but it is far less diverse than this discovery. In addition, several special burial methods have been found: one is to cover the face of the dead with copper washing; the other is to wash the mat under the head of the dead with copper washing; the other is to insert a bronze dagger obliquely at the bottom of the tomb beside the head of the dead. "Taotou burial" and these special burial styles have not been found in other areas of China. They belong to the unique burial styles of Yelang nationality, and the funeral consciousness and religious concepts reflected by them are worth studying.
