Dawangshan National Forest Park is located on the South Bank of Xijiang River, which is at the junction of Guangdong and Guangxi. Dawangshan National Forest Park is located in an advantageous location. The capital city is the transportation center of the whole county. The highway can go directly to Guangzhou, Zhaoqing, Yunfu, Wuzhou and other large and medium-sized cities, and there are entrances and exits of Guangwu expressway. The construction of Yunan section of Nanguang railway has also driven the economic development of the capital city more quickly. The waterway can go up to the counties and cities along the river in Guangxi, and down to the province, Hong Kong, Macao and Pearl River Delta, The transportation is very convenient. As the park is close to the urban area, it not only facilitates the access of water, electricity and communication in the park, but also connects and complements the urban tourism and commercial services with the forest park tourism services, which is conducive to the development of tourism.

Climate and environment

Dawangshan Forest Park is located in the northeast of Dusheng town in Yunan County, connecting Baimu village in the East, Chengping village in the west, xiahai village in the north and the second ring road in the south, with a total area of 806 hectares (12090 mu). Dawang mountain is a high hilly landform. The main ridge is from west to East, and the highest peak is 247.6 meters. The mountain terrain is like a fist. It slopes from the main peak to all sides, forming undulating and changeable hilly landform. There are many small hills of different lengths. Wentang and yaluotang small 1 and 2 reservoirs are located in it, and there are scattered cultivated land and ponds. Forest resources

There are 733.7 hectares of forest land in Dawang mountain. The main forest land is Pinus massoniana forest, with a total area of 332.8 hectares, 90.5 hectares of coniferous mixed forest, 166.7 hectares of coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest, 50 hectares of broad-leaved forest, 86.9 hectares of fruit forest, 2.8 hectares of Cinnamomum cassia forest and 4.0 hectares of Phyllostachys edulis forest. The forest coverage rate is 87%. In terms of forest landscape, there are mainly: 1) pine forest landscape, which is the main forest community of dawangshan Forest Park; 2) mixed forest landscape of lotus and pine; 3) bamboo forest landscape; 4) citrus landscape; 5) cinnamon landscape; 6) unique pine landscape; 7) two kinds of leaves per tree. In the whole forest park, there are more than 30 hills of different sizes, seven Shantang reservoirs, and terraced fields of different sizes. All these landscapes add color to the park.

Functional zoning

The central recreation area is located in the south of the park, close to the capital city, with Yanzhishan as the center, with a planning area of 171.6 hectares. According to the nature of Suburban Forest Park and the lack of parks and playgrounds in urban area, the construction contents of this area include: Park Square, fitness walking class, financial square, folk art performance and entertainment square, central flower bed, youth camping area, live ammunition shooting range (the live ammunition shooting base of the former county Armed Forces Department is converted into a place integrating national defense education and live ammunition shooting entertainment), children's tour Park, caitan field playground, children's pool, Yanzhishan leisure area, Longhu recreation area, Shatangju sightseeing orchard, local products and green food exhibition, bonsai Bird Park, etc.

The forest ecological science exhibition area is located in the southeast of the park, with a planning area of 238.4 hectares. The construction of this area aims to integrate forest ecological science popularization education into a relaxed sightseeing tour. Main construction contents: native tree world (standard garden), pine and fir Kingdom (specimen garden), woody herbal medicine specimen garden, popular science Pavilion (providing recreation for tourists and carrying out forest ecological knowledge publicity place), etc.

The forest leisure resort is located in the west of the park, with a planning area of 115.2 hectares. It has beautiful mountains and rivers, superior ecological conditions, fresh and quiet environment. You can listen to the gurgling streams and overlook the terraces. The villa, artificial lake and pavilion, Siyuan Pavilion, etc. will be built close to the mountain. The appearance of the villa is natural and simple, and the indoor facilities are modern. The forest ecological tourist area is located on both sides of the ridge in the center of the park, with a planning area of 280.8 hectares. Historical legend

According to folklore, in ancient times, a peasant organization called Chen Gan, a small peasant uprising army, fought against the imperial court and occupied a mountain called "Wren's hole" on the side of the Xijiang River, which was easy to defend and difficult to attack. It was specially used to intercept and rob the official ships travelling in the Xijiang River. When the local officials couldn't control it, they reported the news to the capital and asked the officers and soldiers to levy and suppress it.

As the news spread more and more out of shape, it was said that there was no natural danger at all. One man was in charge of the pass and ten thousand men were invincible. Therefore, Long Yan was shocked and called in the Minister of the Ministry of war to discuss the issue of sending troops to fight. According to the report of the local officials, the Minister of the Ministry of war began to play the emperor's way: "it's very important to fight against the Wren hole. The Wren's hole is only an outpost for these people. Its headquarters is located in Dawang mountain, where the mountain king commands troops and horses. In front of Dawang mountain are Daowei, shierling, shimenyong and Wren hole. To fight against Shimen Chung, Shimen is a barrier. If you want to capture shimenyong, you have to fight twelve mountains. Twelve mountains have twelve checkpoints. It's not easy to say. If you want to capture shimenyong, you have to go through the siege. If you want to enter the siege, you will be surrounded by many people.... ".

Hearing this, the emperor also felt that this natural danger was hard to attack, and said, "send troops outside to surround them for a year, so that he will be in chaos without food and starve to death alive!" ?

The Minister of the Ministry of war said, "I'm very hungry. There's a white rice cave in Dawang mountain. There's rice to go out." ?

After hearing this, the emperor had no choice but to order the recruitment of Chen Gan, who was in charge of local military and political affairs. Since then, because of Chen ganqin's clean and honest government, he was deeply loved and respected by the people. After his death, the local people volunteered to build a Dawang temple on the mountain to commemorate Chen Ganwang. Later, people called the mountain behind the Dawang Temple Dawang mountain.
