Historical evolution

The history of the school can be traced back to the "guidefu middle school" founded in 1905, formerly known as Yingtian Academy in Northern Song Dynasty.

In 1901 (the 27th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu), the imperial examinations were abolished and schools were established. The academies in all provinces were ordered to be changed into big schools, the academies in all prefectures, departments and Zhili Prefecture into middle schools, and the academies in all prefectures and counties into small schools.

In August 1905 (the 31st year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu), fan Wenzheng's lecture hall was changed into "guide Fu middle school" (guide middle school for short).

Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, guidefu middle school changed its name many times.

In 1949, it was called Shangqiu Middle School of Henan Province.

In 1953, he moved to Wenhua Road Campus of Shangqiu Normal University.

In 1958, the new Shangqiu University (junior college).

In 1975, Shangqiu Normal University was founded on the basis of Shangqiu University.

In 1977, after the resumption of the college entrance examination, Shangqiu Normal School attached "Shangqiu Normal College Class".

In July 1981, Shangqiu Teachers College was established with the approval of the State Council.

In April 1992, the school changed its name to Shangqiu Teachers College.

In March 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Shangqiu Normal College and Shangqiu Institute of education merged to establish Shangqiu Normal College, which became a provincial undergraduate college.

In 2004, he obtained the right to confer bachelor's degree.
