At the beginning of the 14th and 5th centuries, with the development of religion, there appeared the painting method of drawing various religious patterns on the walls. The patterns drawn in this way were generally religious themes, to decorate the church and other church buildings, so as to increase the seriousness and sanctity of architecture and environment. In ancient Egypt, artists would carve various patterns on the walls and pillars as decorations. Many of these decorations were used to record the life of the owner of the residence, as well as various myths and stories, so as to paint the original Egyptian wall art.
In Tibet, China, Buddhists are painted on walls and thangkas (ornaments made of cowhide) to drive away evil and pray for peace. In various countries and religions, there are records of carving and painting on the walls. These murals, which record the religion and the living conditions at that time, are today's wall paintings.
Graffiti culture appeared in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania in the 1960s. From simply writing the combination of letters and numbers such as tag and doorplate to studying the font and effect in the early 1970s, graffiti has gone out of the corner of the United States and become a global art creation with nearly 40 years of development. Propylene pigment is a synthetic polymer pigment, which was invented in the 1950s. It is made of pigment powder and acrylic emulsion. Acrylic emulsion is also called acrylic resin polymerized emulsion. There are many kinds of acrylic resin, such as methacrylic resin, so there are many kinds of acrylic pigment. Foreign pigment manufacturers have produced a series of propylene products, such as matte acrylic pigment, semi matte acrylic pigment and glossy acrylic pigment, as well as acrylic matte oil, glazing oil, molding ointment and so on.
Acrylic pigments are very popular among painters. Compared with oil paint, it has the following characteristics:
(1) It can be diluted with water for cleaning.
(2) Quick drying. The paint can be dried in a few minutes after finishing. It doesn't need to wait several months to polish after finishing like oil painting. Painters who like slow drying pigments can use retardants to delay the drying time of pigments.
(3) When the coloring layer is dry, it will lose solubility rapidly and form a tough, elastic and impermeable membrane. The film is similar to rubber.
(4) The color is full, thick and fresh. No matter how it is blended, it will not have the feeling of "dirty" and "gray". The coloring layer will never absorb oil and pollute.
(5) The persistence of the work is long. The oil film in oil painting is easy to oxidize after a long time, turn yellow and hard, and crack the picture easily. In theory, acrylic film will never embrittle and never turn yellow.
(6) The biggest difference between acrylic pigment and oil painting is that it has the operation characteristics of general water-based pigment. It can be used as both watercolor and gouache.
(7) Acrylic molding ointment contains particles, and there are coarse particles and fine particles, which provides convenience for the production of texture.
(8) Acrylic pigment is nontoxic and harmless to human body.
It should be noted that: acrylic painting should be made on the base of acrylic primer (gesso), not oil base. Material experts also do not advocate the use of acrylic and oil painting, especially do not paint oil painting on acrylic, this is mainly for the permanent preservation of the work. There is no adverse reaction between propylene and oil paint. When used alternately, its adhesion remains to be tested by time.
