After three excavations by the archaeological team, it is confirmed that it is an ancient cultural site overlapped by Yangshao culture and Longshan culture. unearthed relic
280 pieces of pottery from Yangshao culture period were unearthed from the site. Among them, there are eating utensils, bowls, basins, plates, cups, etc.; there are drinking utensils, small mouth pointed bottom bottles; there are containers, pottery pots, etc. These vessels are beautiful in shape, and some of them are painted with colorful geometric patterns. The colors are harmonious, simple and beautiful, which fully shows the technological characteristics of the painted pottery in the Yangshao culture period.
783 pieces of pottery from the Longshan culture period were unearthed from the site. There are cooking utensils, chopsticks, eating utensils, pots, one ear cans, two ear cans, etc. And unearthed bone, mussel, stone. The artifacts can be divided into early and late periods. The early double-edged stone knives are rare among the unearthed stone tools, which reflects that the technology of making stone tools in the Longshan culture period has gradually improved, and also shows that the level of productivity at that time has a greater degree of development than that in the Yangshao culture period, and bone and clam ware have been widely used. The early cultural relics of Longshan Culture in the site are similar to Miaodigou phase II culture, and should belong to Miaodigou phase II culture of Longshan culture.
In the hengzhen site, 5 urn coffins, 24 other ancient tombs and 130 human skeletons were excavated. The five urn coffins in Yangshao period were used to bury children's bodies in matriarchal clan society, and the coffins were all near the mother's house; the tombs in Longshan culture period were mostly combined tombs. According to the analysis of the posture of the male in the right side and the female in the left side, the social status of the women at that time had obviously declined, and the concept of men being superior to women had initially formed.
