Chingtiehshan Peak
JINGTIE Shan, 5205 meters above sea level, is located at 39.4 ° N and 97.8 ° E. It is located in the west section of Qilian Mountains in Gansu Province. It is rich in iron ore resources and has been mined. Jingtieshan mine is located in the middle of Qilian Mountains, Sunan Yugu Autonomous County. It was discovered in 1955 and explored from 1956 to 1958. It was founded in 1958. It is one of the largest and most mechanized black metallurgy pit mines in China.
Brief introduction of mining area
The deposits include the HUASHUGOU and Heigou mining areas under mining and planned mining. HUASHUGOU and Heigou mining area are three kilometers apart, one east and one west, standing on both sides of Beidahe river. HUASHUGOU and Heigou mining areas are a NWW syncline structure, and the exposed strata are Sinian Jingtieshan group, which are mainly a set of light metamorphic rock series composed of quartzite, marble, phyllite and Jasper bearing jingtiesiderite. The HUASHUGOU orebody is repeatedly exposed due to secondary folds, forming seven ore belts. The ore body is bedded and stratoid, generally 20 meters thick. The main ore body is 1600 meters long and 50-150 meters thick. The ore is a mixed ore of Specularite and siderite, which is mostly banded with barite and Jasper. The average grade (total iron) is 37.86%, which is easy to select, and the harmful components are all lower than the industrial index limit.
Heigou mining area
It is a closed syncline structure, and the ore body is exposed along the two wings of the Syncline in the form of stratiform and stratoid. The main orebody is 1410m long and 55-117m thick. The ore type is more complex than HUASHUGOU, but it is still dominated by Specularite and siderite mixed ore. The average grade (total iron) is 36.14%, which is easy to be selected, and the harmful components are lower than the industrial index limit.
Periphery of mining area
There are also a number of small and medium iron deposits of the same type, such as Toudaogou, Baijian, xiliugou, jinerquan, Jiapigou, Xiaoliugou, jiugeqingyang and gulangxia. They are concentrated in the middle and western part of the Qilian Mountains. They are distributed from northwest to southeast along the Caledonian fold belt of the North Qilian Mountains. They are about 40 km long and 8 km wide, forming the Jingtieshan Iron ore field. The proven iron ore reserves are nearly 600 million tons.
