Historical evolution
In February 1951, it was built and opened by private Tongyi Co., Ltd. with a fund of 60000 yuan.
In 1956, public-private joint venture was put under the management of the company. Some of them were rebuilt in 1956 and 1963. During the cultural revolution, it changed its name to Qianjin theater.
In July 1989, the Municipal Finance Bureau, the Municipal Culture Bureau and the municipal performance company raised 4.1 million yuan for renovation.
On January 18, 1990, it resumed business and was renamed Ping'an Grand Theater. In 1972, the film theater was changed to the amphibious theater.
After reconstruction in 1990, the theater has 1088 seat auditorium, two video projection rooms, 220 square meters lobby with canteen and video game room, 330 square meters coffee shop on the second floor with 130 elegant seats, and 350 square meters dance hall on the third floor.
In 1991, a three room karaoke was added to the coffee shop on the second floor.
