Shanghai Century Avenue, from the Oriental Pearl to the Pudong Century Park, is about 5.5 kilometers wide and 100 meters wide. Century Avenue, once named Central Avenue, is about 5.5 kilometers wide and 100 meters wide from Oriental Pearl to Pudong Century Park. From the west to the Oriental Pearl, the island of Lujiazui, the east to the administrative culture center of Pudong New Area, it is known as "the Champs Elysees street in the East".

In order to highlight the effect of garden landscape, the green landscape sidewalk accounts for 69 meters, and the 44.5-meter-wide sidewalk on the north side is arranged with four row road trees. The evergreen camphor is on the outside, and the winter deciduous tree Ginkgo biloba is on the inside along the street, which has the effect of covering summer and winter.

The south side is 24.5 meters wide, with 2 rows of road trees. At the same time, there are also eight 180 meter long and 20 meter wide "botanical gardens" on the North sidewalk, which are named Liuyuan, Metasequoia garden, cherry garden, crape myrtle garden, magnolia garden, tea garden, Bauhinia Garden and luanshu garden, with prominent themes and unique features.

Along the road, there are time themed sculptures and works of art with unique scenery and profound cultural charm.

The architectural sculptures of Century Avenue mainly include: Century Chenguang, which is located at the intersection of Century Avenue and Laoshan West Road. Taking the ancient Chinese timer "hourglass" as the original shape, nine stainless steel glass inlaid columns "hourglass" with different heights are distributed in a parabola, forming a planetary trajectory. Every two to five days, the electric pump will hit the sand again. This rare ancient science and technology in the world complements the modern architecture in Pudong, which is unique.

The creation of the five elements originates from the ancient Chinese philosophy of mutual generation and mutual restraint, with five oracle bone characters of gold, wood, water, fire and earth as the basic design elements. The five parts of the sculpture have different images. "Gold" takes a triangle and stands in the center in the shape of a tower, "wood" is cut boldly from a cube, "fire" takes the shape of a flame, all of which are made of cast copper.

"Water" is made of stainless steel to make a smooth hieroglyphic water curve, while "soil" is made of natural rocks. Oriental light is located on the open island at the intersection of Yanggao Road and Century Avenue. Century Park, backed by a large square, takes the original sundial as the original shape and adopts stainless steel pipe grid structure, which is reminiscent of remote history.

The top of the sundial is small and the bottom is large. The oval sundial plate symbolizes the earth. The midpoint through which the sundial needle passes represents China. According to the determination of astronomers, the sundial needle points due north and has the function of timing.

According to the naming characteristics of Century Avenue, the series of urban environmental sketches on Century Avenue regularly reflect its integrity and modern high-tech style. The sculpture with the theme of time makes the whole century avenue the only exhibition street of urban sculpture with the theme of time in the world.
