South Wutai Mountain

South Wutai Mountain is located at the foot of Zhongnan mountain, 50 Li south of Chang'an District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It stretches for about ten li. There are five peaks, the highest of which is Dading. The four peaks are Qingliang, Wenshu, Lingying, Sheshen and Guanyin, also known as Wutai, so it is named Wutai Mountain. This is the most beautiful place in Nanshan, and there is Mount Wutai in the east of Yaoxian, which is different from Yaoxian in Yunnan. There are more than 40 temples in South Wutai Mountain since Ming and Qing Dynasties, with exquisite architecture and unique layout. The mountain is steep and beautiful.

The origin of the name

There are also five small peaks, called Nanwutai. It is also named Nanwutai because it is located in the south of Wutai Mountain (Yaowang mountain) in Yaoxian County, Shaanxi Province.

Self driving: go directly to the scenic spot along G65 xizha expressway.

Shuttle bus: take Huanshan tourism line 2 to Nanwutai on the east side of North Square of Dayan Pagoda in Xi'an, but there are few trains.

Bus: take bus no.215 or 229 at Xi'an bell tower and get off at Chang'an bus station. Then take bus 338 (335) at Chang'an bus station to Wutai scenic spot.

Zhongnanshan National Forest Park

Zhongnanshan National Forest Park was officially opened in May 1993, with a total investment of 60 million yuan. It will be implemented by stages and developed step by step in five to eight years. By 2000, the annual number of tourists will be 800000. "Three thousand gold world in Chang'an, one million five pavilions in Zhongnan", 208 scenic spots and 58 main scenic spots are designed. From guanyintai to Tianchi, a 5000 meter long aerial ropeway will be designed and constructed to connect Nanwutai scenic spot with Cuihuashan scenic spot.

Liu Lantao Villa

There is a villa named Liu Lantao on the South Wutai Mountain. In fact, it is not accurate to say that it is Liu Lantao's villa, because it was built by Liu Lantao for Chairman Mao's summer vacation, so it is actually Chairman Mao's villa. Everyone calls him dusongge, because there is only one pine tree in the courtyard, which was planted by Liu Lantao himself to welcome Chairman Mao. There is another alias, called fairyland, which means that the scenery is very beautiful, is where the gods live.
