Construction history
Scheme collection
On March 11, 2004, the notice and prequalification documents of the architectural design competition for the gymnasium of China Agricultural University (wrestling competition hall for 2008 Olympic Games) were published on the website of China Agricultural University. They were also published on the website of Beijing Municipal Planning Commission, channel 6 of Beijing Television, channel 5 of CCTV, Beijing News, morning post, Beijing Youth Daily and Tom Website and other media release. The prequalification application documents of 24 applicants (including 38 design institutes) were received within the specified time. The 24 applicants come from 11 countries and regions, including China, Japan, Australia, France, Germany, the United States, Canada, South Korea, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, including 13 independent applicants and 11 consortium applicants.
On March 24, 2004, 24 applicants were assessed by experts from the Qualification Committee, and the top 8 applicants were identified. On March 26, 2004, invitation letters were sent to the eight candidates who were selected for the design competition. On April 6, 2004, the design competition documents were distributed to 8 candidates.
On June 16, 2004, eight participants submitted the competition documents as required. From June 18 to 23, 2004, Australia Group was selected through preliminary technical examination and expert evaluation GSA.Ltd It has three excellent projects: the joint venture with Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute, Kawaguchi structural design office of Japan, and architectural design and Research Institute of South China University of technology. In December 2004, through the discussion and approval of the Party committee and the president's office meeting, the architectural design and Research Institute of South China University of technology was determined as the bid winner.
Scheme approval
In December 2004, the plan information was submitted to the Municipal Planning Commission, with a total construction area of 23950 square meters. In January 2005, the plan was approved by the Municipal Planning Commission. At the end of January 2005, the feasibility study report was completed and submitted to the Ministry of education. The seismic safety assessment was completed in December 2004 and the environmental assessment was completed in February 2005.
On March 4, 2005, BOCOG completed the examination and approval of the scheme. According to the scheme approval opinions of BOCOG, the architectural design and Research Institute of South China University of technology is carrying out the preliminary design, and at the same time, it needs to seek the opinions of the competent departments of fire protection, civil air defense, transportation and landscape architecture. It is planned that the preliminary design scheme will be submitted to all departments for approval by the end of March 2005, the construction drawing design will be carried out in April, the supervision bidding will be carried out at the same time, the construction general contracting bidding will be carried out in May, and the construction will start in June Design.
Construction completed
On the morning of August 18, 2007, Qin Shicheng, deputy secretary of the Party committee of China Agricultural University, handed over the golden key to the International Wrestling Federation, marking the official completion of the wrestling competition hall of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games located in the East Campus of China Agricultural University.
Wrestling and sitting volleyball competitions will be held in the gymnasium of China Agricultural University during the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games. The project was officially started on September 15, 2005. The building area is about 24000 square meters. During the Olympic Games, the stadium of China Agricultural University set up 8500 spectator seats, including 6000 fixed seats and 2500 temporary seats. From August 21 to 26, 2007, the "good luck Beijing" series of sports events - 2007 World Youth wrestling championship will be held here.
Venue structure
structure
Truss structure is adopted in the main competition hall of China Agricultural University Gymnasium, which forms the shape of high and low scattered, and makes full use of the shape characteristics of the roof, forming an excellent natural lighting and ventilation effect.
In the effect picture of the gymnasium of China Agricultural University, you can see that the gymnasium is built in the central area of the campus. Because of the dual positioning of the Olympic Games gymnasium and the University Gymnasium, the shape design of the gymnasium is novel and not publicized. The architectural shape is integrated with the original campus environment, which optimizes and integrates the original campus space of China Agricultural University, and improves the environmental quality of the original campus . The completion of the gymnasium will greatly improve the level of sports facilities of teachers and students and the ability to hold large-scale activities.
characteristic
As a new gymnasium, China Agricultural University Gymnasium fully highlights the concept of "Green Olympics". Stadiums and gymnasiums are big energy consumers. In the 1970s and 1980s, most of our country's gymnasiums did not have natural lighting, and all gymnasiums did not turn on lights most of the time. It was dark inside, and the lighting was completely provided by lights, which consumed a lot of energy.
The skylight design of the gymnasium plays a very good role. The skylight on the top of the gymnasium makes the lighting effect in the gymnasium very good. When the school uses the gymnasium for teaching activities after the Olympic Games, it doesn't need to turn on the lights in the daytime. It can completely rely on the natural light to meet the use. In addition to lighting, the skylight design can also enhance indoor convection ventilation, effectively reduce the temperature and reduce the use of air conditioning.
But after all, natural ventilation can not completely replace the role of air conditioning, designers have come up with a more effective way to reduce the energy consumption of air conditioning. When more than 400 glass windows on the roof are opened, natural convection can be formed between the air inside and outside the gymnasium. Through natural ventilation, the temperature inside the gymnasium is basically the same as that outside the gymnasium.
The Agricultural University Gymnasium is a large gymnasium with 8000 seats. If only one set of air-conditioning system is set up, there is no problem to meet the needs of the Olympic Games. However, in the long-term use of the school after the game, the number of participants can rarely reach 8000. If the air conditioner that meets the needs of 8000 people is turned on, it will cause huge waste.
For this reason, the designers set up two sets of air conditioning systems in the upper and lower areas of the gymnasium. If the number of spectators is limited, only the air conditioning below will be turned on; if the audience is almost full, the two systems will be turned on at the same time to effectively avoid energy waste. This kind of green and efficient energy-saving air-conditioning, using heat recovery air-conditioning technology, indoor air purification technology, air conditioning heating and humidification, dehumidification and control technology, direct fired lithium bromide unit and other scientific and technological innovation technology, greatly reducing the energy consumption.
In order to make the venue design more reasonable and effective, designers also use CFD technology to assist design. CFD is the abbreviation of "computational fluid dynamics". It uses computer software to simulate and analyze the temperature, wind speed and other conditions in buildings.
According to the height of the roof, the number of seats, the number and distribution of entrances, exits and vents and other conditions initially set by the designers, the venue model is established in the computer. From the model, the wind speed, temperature and other conditions can be seen directly. The analysts will feed back the results to the designers. If there is any difference with the design goal, the designers will adjust the design scheme to achieve the goal Please.
It is estimated that through the use of green energy-saving air conditioning, geothermal wells and natural lighting design, the power consumption of the whole venue can be 30% less than that of ordinary venues.
Function
The role of competition
Use during the Olympic Games: Wrestling
Use during the Paralympic Games: Sitting Volleyball
Can undertake badminton, table tennis, gymnastics, fitness, volleyball, basketball, handball and indoor football and other conventional sports competitions and large-scale activities.
Post game use
Build an Olympic Stadium in the university campus, this magnificent building is not only for the Olympic Games, but also for better service for college students in the future.
But five years ago, when China Agricultural University first proposed the construction of Olympic venues, there was no gymnasium in the nearly 100 year old school.
BOCOG carefully considered the University's request and agreed to move the Olympic wrestling hall planned to be built in the Olympic Park to China Agricultural University.
China Agricultural University hopes to improve its competitiveness by building new Olympic venues
