Shenyang World Expo Garden

Shenyang World Expo Garden was built on the original site of Shenyang Botanical Garden and held the World Horticultural Exposition in 2006. It has 53 domestic exhibition gardens, 23 international exhibition gardens and 24 special exhibition gardens, which is the largest one in all previous horticultural expositions in the world. In the construction of Shenyang World Expo Park, many design schemes and construction techniques are used for the first time. For example, the three-layer laminated glass bridge deck, the Phoenix wing tower, and the lily tower are the largest sculpture buildings in China.

Every year, April to October is the most busy time for flowers blooming in the garden, and it is also the most suitable time for sightseeing. Every month, different flower exhibitions will be held in the garden, such as the tulip exhibition from April to may, the blue flower exhibition in August and so on, which attract many tourists.

Shenyang Botanical Garden, located in Dongling District of Shenyang City, also known as Shenyang World Expo Garden and Shenyang World Horticultural Expo Garden, is a multi-functional comprehensive tourist attraction integrating green ecological appreciation, fine garden art, humanistic landscape architecture, scientific research and popular science education, entertainment and leisure activities. It was founded in February 1959 and officially opened to the outside world in 1993. It covers an area of 211 hectares. With the lily tower, Phoenix Square and rose garden as the landmark theme buildings, it gathers the garden and architectural boutiques of the world's five continents and domestic key cities, with a total of 100 exhibition gardens distributed in the north and South regions.

Shenyang Botanical Garden is the site of the 2006 World Horticultural Exposition in Shenyang, China. It is known as the "World Expo Garden in the forest". Background of preparation

According to historical records, "Jiuzhan", "Gaokan", "Shangma" (shangmajiawanzi in History), "Zhongma" (zhongmajiawanzi in History), "Xiama" (xiamajiawanzi in History), "Yantai" (Nilu in Yantai in History), "qijianfang" and "zhongshuiquan" around Shenyang Botanical Garden are ancient villages in the early Qing Dynasty. There used to be "Xiangyun Temple", "Longquan Temple", "Qingyun Temple" and "Guandi Temple" in Jiuzhan, Gaokan, qijianfang and Yantai. The age of the old station is many years earlier than that of other villages. The main road in front of the South Gate of Shenyang Botanical Garden, Shenfu Road (North line), is still a thousand year old road, which was called "grand imperial road" in Qing Dynasty. In those years, Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Qianlong, Emperor Jiaqing and Emperor Daoguang used this road many times to visit Shengjing (Shenyang) and Xingjing (Xinbin) to worship their ancestors. When visiting the mausoleum, the troops had to set up "Jianying" in Yantai village for the emperor to eat "lunch". At that time, officials above five grades of Shengjing will gather in Yantai village and kneel down to welcome the emperor into the capital.

The Shen Fu railway running through the park, formerly known as "Fenghai Railway", was built by the northeast people on their own in 1925. Previously, railways in the Northeast were built by imperialist powers. Fenghai railway is an important historical relic in the history of nearly one hundred years in Northeast China. It is a teaching material for patriotism education to the youth.

In 1958, Chairman Mao Zedong visited Jiuzhan (where Gaokan commune is located) on his way to Fushun. The botanical garden will be built here the next year.

Historical evolution

Shenyang Botanical Garden was founded in February 1959. Jiao Ruoyu, then the first Secretary of Shenyang municipal Party committee, instructed Shenyang Urban Construction Bureau and Shenyang Institute of forestry and soil science of Chinese Academy of Sciences to jointly establish Shenyang Botanical Garden.

In 1962, it was taken over by Shenyang garden department, and was withdrawn and merged into Donghui forest farm during the cultural revolution; in 1973, it was restored.

In 1981, Shenyang Landscape Department and Shenyang greening department were set up separately, and botanical garden was classified as greening department;

In 1988, it was transferred to Shenyang Institute of landscape science and built a special garden such as tree specimen garden and a special plant viewing area. Relying on the natural advantages of the lake, it built the Tiesuo bridge.

On July 18, 1993, Shenyang Municipal Government approved the formal opening to the outside world. Since then, Shenyang Botanical Garden has embarked on the road of joint development of scientific research, science popularization and tourism.

In 1994, it returned to Shenyang Urban Construction Bureau and became an institution directly under the Bureau;

In April 2002, Shenyang Municipal Government assigned Shenyang Botanical Garden from Shenyang construction administration bureau to Shenyang Qipanshan Development Zone Management Committee according to the overall planning of developing Eastern tourism area.

In 2006, Shenyang Botanical Garden successfully held the 2006 China Shenyang World Horticultural Exposition.

Shenyang Botanical Garden invested 80 million yuan to improve the hardware and implement the ticket card system.

Scenic Area Planning

Shenyang Botanical Garden covers an area of 211 hectares. Among them, there are 196 hectares of green space, 6.5 hectares of water surface, and 6.9 hectares of roads and buildings. There are leisure exhibition area, special exhibition area, domestic exhibition area and foreign exhibition area, and more than 100 exhibition parks. The overall layout is divided into North and south parts with Shenyang Fuzhou railway as the boundary. In the south part, there are plant special garden, green lake and rock climbing sightseeing area, Jingtan and lingjiaogou recreation bridge area, Science Park, Star Park and other main sightseeing parks; in the north part, there are steam locomotive exhibition hall, hotel and plant planting area.

There are many kinds of plant resources in Northeast, northwest, North China and Inner Mongolia, and more than 2000 kinds of open woody plants, open herbaceous plants and greenhouse plants are planted in the park. It is the plant exhibition garden with the largest collection of plant species in Northeast China.

Order rectification

On October 9, 2015, the National Tourism Administration held a press conference to report the recent verification of 5A scenic spots. After rectification and acceptance, the serious warning of Shenyang Botanical Garden in Liaoning Province, which was reported in April 2015, was revoked.

On July 31, 2019, the Ministry of culture and tourism announced that in order to strengthen the quality management of tourist attractions, improve the quality of tourist attractions and purify the tourism consumption environment, according to the national standard of the people's Republic of China "classification and evaluation of quality grades of tourist attractions" (GB / t17775-2003) and "measures for the management of quality grades of tourist attractions", according to the annual review results of 5A grade tourist attractions, the Ministry of culture and tourism issued an announcement And the Ministry of tourism decided to issue a notice of criticism to Shenyang Botanical garden scenic spot in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, which failed to meet the standards or had serious problems in the review and inspection, and order it to rectify and deal with the problem within three months.

Theme flower show

The park has three seasons of blooming flowers and four seasons of tourism scenery. Among them, tulip flower exhibition, Rhododendron exhibition, fine Orchid Exhibition and cherry flower exhibition will be held from April to May; peony peony flower exhibition, iris flower exhibition and sleeping lotus flower exhibition will be held from May to June; Lily Flower Exhibition and lotus flower exhibition will be held in July; blue flower exhibition will be held in August; Chrysanthemum Exhibition will be held in October.
